Michigan Thread - all are welcome!

Ignorance is a treatable condition.

It is the willfully stupid that bother me the most.

Well said...I just literally laughed out loud...even though it is actually sad how true that is...

I thought the same thing as Nova about roundup & runoff. I have a feeling many of the people complaining are the same that have a lawn service come & spray chemicals all over their lawn so it looks "pretty"; then turn around & buy organic food...

These situations/stories would tick me off even if I didn't own chickens.....

Hi everyone. I arranged a duck sitter and hid in the UP for a few weeks. I'm at least 20pgs behind! Hope you all are well and happy. Came home to a muddy pen, and 2 ducks sitting on 44 eggs between them. Yikes!!!
Also- check out these odd balls I found growing in last year's deep litter, which seems to be growing the best pumpkins *ever*! These I think were seeds from an Heirloom Cocozelle Squash. Not sure if you can see the stripes, but I do... And color does not match Cocozelle....No ribs or star shape. Plus these have bumpies like a Hubbard. Any guesses on how I got these? :)

Maybe they are a hybrid?

That's what I was going to say Silly. Cross polinated... I actually had some really weird holy s..ts happen one year when I planted watermelon next to cucumbers... The cucumbers all turned out with watermelon coloring on the skins, not the rich, dark green. They were also very wet when sliced and had a sweeter taste... Total oopsie. The watermelons on the other hand didn't turn out well at all. What did I learn? Don't plant watermelons and cucumbers next to each other. LOL
