:welcome

And take Silly's advice! LOL! My "4" chicks, turned into "12" while picking them out at TSC last March. By June, 14. "Chicken Math" is REAL!!

This thread is GREAT! I cannot tell you how wonderful everyone is AND helpful. I would be lost (& most likely would not still have my entire flock) without everyone's help & support. Also, never in a million years would I have guessed how much more I would get out of having chickens than just fresh eggs...amazing.

Oh, and just wait .. Chickenstock 2014 (held in Lansing) is when you will get a chance to put a lot of faces to screennames. So glad I attended last June ...made a lot of friends :D

Jimmy, my two cents is the same as above plus hardware cloth! And a covered run. And sexed chicks if you aren't ready for trying to rehome roos (worse than cats)

Welcome to BYC!!! Winter will be a long one this year; you will be chewing your fingernails before it is over with the wait!!!

Hi Jimmy, welcome to BYC and the Michigan thread

Never got above 16 degrees yesterday (or today come to think of it), have cleared the drive twice with the tractor. Looks like the boats will not be running for much longer over to the Island, the Huron got stuck in the ice for short time this morning and I see more ice blown in.

After 4 or 5 days of mid 40's the temperature here is holding steady at 35 F. (Neener, neener, neener.

) Heck, I've even had the window open for some fresh air.

I thought people who decorated their kitchens with a chicken theme were a bit off.......... *sigh* I think I can blame my DH for starting it cause he got me the first chicken statue... but I have 6 statues of sorts in the kitchen and I saw this at Michaels so of course I couldn't pass it up.
