Add a feeder/watering station.
Bring another hen in to be with Spaz. Re-introduce them at the same time.

I have been using kent/blue seal for my birds. I tell you what, they seem to know the difference between that and the cheap stuff. I was on Flockraiser... green bag, but one day I decided to switch because I am like that. The birds show a clear preference.

I am treating Strutter for gout. Today I went out and filled water, feed, and looked at him, OMG he is just tore up from the floor up. His comb is jacked up. I don't know what it is, but it's white/crusty/scaley. One eye is a bit closed, but his face is not swollen, no is there bubbles or snot. His girls again, they are perfectly fine. I have no idea what is going on there. I can get a picture of his comb, but I am thinking dry pox maybe? This is a first on this one for me. He's liking the heat though. I rigged a heat lamp in his coop, because he is ill, and not other reason. As for the other birds... have a fav/NH cross that's gone broody. Ekta the serema has gone broody. No illnesses, no frost bite. Even Honey and Gainborough weathered it out pretty good in their coop and tiny run together.

I know, how will Gainsborough's tail get epic? Well, I am thinking I am not caring about epic so much at this point. I will worry about epic with the offspring.

Now for the funny chick. I have fav/Mr. Ed crosses being raised by a silkie hen. All I can say is OMG, they are some funny looking chick/patterns showing up. When I can catch the little suckers, will get pictures. The little full faverolle is starting to get color. I should know in a week if it's dinner or not.

About hatchery Isa's... how long do they take to get brown? The five I bought... one turned out to be a girl. She's a pretty thing. SHE turned the russet brown in no time at all. The boys, well they are only just getting brown... They are eight weeks. Friendly little buggers. And I am planning to eat them... I bought them with the intent to eat them. BUT we are talking super friendly. Super pick me up and cuddle me cockerels. WTH?? Lordy. I have an ugly butt amber/fav cockerel roo in the garage with them, and now he's getting in the habit of standing on my feet, behind me trying to murder me. I mean, they get enough to eat, but dang... Super friendly. I think they should go to fuzzy. Fuzzy loves cuddle butts.

Hope everyone has cleared off tarp roofs. That snow is getting compacted, heavy, and rain is on the way, can make for a very bad mess/disaster. I cleared mine off today, and nearly blocked myself in the run. When it fell down in front of the door, even after having shoveled a bunch off before pushing from the inside, the pile was up to my girls. I only have a 5 foot high entry... there was no diving over it...

Be wary about this rise in temperature.
At my house it is currently 35 degrees and 90% humidity. Those conditions are prime for frostbite. Throw in cold wet ground and you can have frostbite set in pretty quick. It seems harder to notice under these conditions.

I was just thinking that earlier today...21% yesterday morning and 68% now in the coop..back below freezing tomorrow night...yikes!

Oh I know... I worry on the frost bite again. The first winter, no frost bite problems at all. Last winter, lost toes and comb points. So far so good this winter. I am going to use tomorrow morning as a de-poop day. OMG... Nothing as fun as frozen poop piles...

I think they have to do that for themselves.  an ill/weakbird is not going to fight for a higher position, nor hold it for long.

They seem to know when another bird in the coop is ill.. I think that's natures way of protecting the flock.   We kinda force these conditions on our birds by domestication and confining them.

She's not ill, as far as I can see. She is skinny, but I think that's because of the hens plucking out her feathers

They might not still be frozen by tomorrow!
I kinda wish I had gotten out there today to scoop up before they thaw out.
