Michigan Thread - all are welcome!

(It's in Lansing) I'm trying to get out of my meetings to go to this.. Raz... if you still want to carpool, let me know.
Sadly, my boss can't spare me tomorrow, so I can't go. Will have to email them, but it would not be the same as being there in person, for they can't ignore a person speaking as they can with emails.

A few pics of my girls. I love them to pieces. Hopefully some of you will too

Are those the ladies that I brought to you at Meijer? :)

The last time that we went to the public comment event, none of the commissioners or committee groups were there. I hope that is different this time.

Also, the last time they did this, the comment moderator summarized the spoken comments into a short written report to the commissioners and MDARD, but all of the written comments and e-mails were included in the package.

They may ignore the written comments but they are included in their entirety. I think they carry a lot of weight.

Update on dogs that attacked my chickens!
A friend of mine had posted on Facebook about finding the two dogs at her place. She evidently didn't see my post on Facebook. That was about 5:30 pm this evening. 2 hours ago the dog warden picked them up at her house! :yesss: She posted "Aparrently they have been killing chickens!" :cd
I just read it alittle while ago. Tomorrow I will be calling the Dog warden!

We have a 10 month old roo.. he is still pretty nice, gets out of our way, protects the girls, eats out of our hands, we have had leo since he was a pullet chick, was born a girl according to tsc and turned into a boy.. but a sweet boy.. I wonder though, if someday since he is getting spurs if he will get change or stay the same, i think he will stay nice, but have the thought in the back of my head, because i had a couple mean roos..
If it "really" was a pullet and changed sex, then it won't be any good for breeding. When a pullet or hen is hatched, it has two ovaries, one of which withers and dies. If it changes sex later, the other ovary withers, and since it doesn't have male sex genitalia, it can't breed. Hopefully, he's a "PET"!

Maybe that's why he was so sweet?

Boys just lose their heads sometimes when spring rolls around. A good roo won't attack: It should subside when summer sets in and they are less twitterpaited:) If you need to see it ever it's in my siggy link, in the preventative care section with "VERY IMPORTANT" next to it :).

I've had multiple roos, some have gotten aggressive to the point of being put down; some were in-between, some like hugged....... every one is different and a good roo is hard to find -but worth ever penny :)
