So got a bag of bad medicated chick starter it smelled rotten i mean real bad. Took it back to tsc. Opened another bag it was rotten as well. About 6 bags they were all bad. Dated for July so not sure if that was when it was baged or when it expires but not sure if it was just this store or a bad lot of feed.

RaZ, this appointment sounds like good if not better news. I like her credentials plus the fact she is into chickens. Lets hope she is focused on Michigan and not China.

Was purina i dont buy dumor anymor. Usually only go to mill near me but they dont have a medicated starter

Thank you for all the comments on the cement. I thought he may have another issue.I Knew some of you had cement floors and didn't remember problems with it.Just thought I would check before I tried to convince him it is not the cement,

He should evaluate his birds condition, can't tell if they're thin for the feathers being puffed. Any coughing, sneezing or clicking from their chest, swollen eyes, watery nose. etc.. I suggested upper respiratory because I know that has been going around. I've been fighting it with my birds and may end up starting my flocks over again.

Often when you see muskrats out in the winter away from water they are hungry. That happens in winters when the weather is unusually cold and their shallow-water feeding grounds freeze down to the bottom. I remember another winter when they were crawling out and dying alongside the roads by swamps. Hope it is not going to be another year like that.

Taking advantage of this balmy 35 degree weather, I did outdoor chores. Including a good coop clean.
The canaries were very chatty and a few were practically warbling. Sounded an awful lot like an egg song.
A cursory check and I see one bird in the darkened corner. Just sitting.

Tomorrow marks 22 weeks. Dare I get my hopes up?

Oh crap. That means that i likely DID feed my poor birds partially rotten food I'm sure it's bad far before the smell, i have one of the bags folded up in the coop still. I'll have to write back tomorrow on the date. My poor sissy, she loved me to pieces and me and her little roo have been heartsick about the deal.

From what i understand with food "batching" the base recipe is usually the same, they add or take out things when they switch the machines over. Both all flock and chick starter have higher protein, what was the protein ingredient in that? Real meat, or soy? I'll read that on my bag as well.
