Michigan Thread - all are welcome!

Anyone need more chickens? My ultra crabby neighbor is on the prowl. She wants everything gone. She's going to the township to complain. Thus lady has done nothing but complain since she's lived here. Dogs 10 acres away make too much noise. Time to get myself a lawyer I guess. I hate it when city people move to the country!

This is why we moved from Michigan to TN. Here no one bothers anyone else. We currently have 30+ chickens, Turkeys, Quail, Guinea's, goats, a donkey and a cow.

Thank you everyone who commented never thought of calling AC but definitely will do. I did complain at the store reg and was told shewasthe bird manager and new how to care for them :-( I've already emailed the offices on there main page. Thank you all again for ur input. And next time (hopefully there isn't one) if i see it I'll def get q pic

This would fall under the Mich Dept of Agriculture.

Quote: With all due respect, MDARD has abdicated their authority. Rather than allow for a state-wide policy for the health and well-being of livestock, they want local authorities determine what is allowed and what is not.

I sure am glad that the surgery I had last October to remove a bursae from my elbow was minor surgery. I think the doctors would have killed me if it had been something serious. The elbow is extremely sensitive and painful, is still draining and the wound still hasn't completely healed. Their first suggestion was to operate again. Perhaps they are thinking that with a 3rd surgery they might actually get it right. Since I was opposed to that they put me on physical therapy which caused an increase in fluid and bleeding. So now I am back on antibiotics for the next 10 days.

I had worried that because of this we wouldn't be able to go on our trip so I briefly considered not going back to the doctor, but should the MRSA infection return it could be fatal and my family would probably never talk to me again if that happened.

Wonder why it is that if something goes wrong with a medical treatment or procedure we still have to pay for it. When we build a house if we were to do something wrong we would absorb the cost and that would be expected. So why have we allowed doctors to charge for them to "practice" medicine. I would love to find a doctor that does medicine. Can you imagine hiring a builder to practice on building you a new home?

Speaking of dumb things, I just saw some mini M&Ms. What's with that? Did lots of people complain that the regular ones are to big? I can just hear it. "Could you make some smaller ones? Sometimes I just can't eat a whole one".

I'm kind of glad that I don't have any medical coverage. If I had a doctor he or she might tell me that I am sick or something.
As long as I wake up every day I suppose that I am healthy.
That's good enough for me.

I still have the ultra gentle German New Hampshire roo and hen for sale. I really hope someone wants them - maybe start raising a heritage breed? Hillbilly Hen (Laura) put some pictures up a week, or so, ago of the parents. They are on CL but someone on here must need a breeding pair?

I also need to move 5 Flemish Giant/NZ/CA mix bunnies - 8 weeks old. And, I still have one purebred Flemish Giant - 9 weeks old to sell. The Flemish Giants are so gentle and make great pets. All of the bunnies are hand held and friendly.

Yeah, RAIN! About time!
John, bring them to chickenstock, I bet someone will want them when they see them. I still need to give you a call, just have been so busy and tired lately. As far as I know right now I can go. My MIL's birthday is the same day and I am planning on making some homemade ice cream as a surprise for her.

Opa, you might need to get a second opinion. A new set of eyes might just be the answer.

Now if only I'd gotten a peacock instead of chickens! Crazy neighbor thinks my roosters screech.

Some sad news here...http://www.lansingstatejournal.com/...-contempt-animals-been-removed?nclick_check=1

I didn't realize that Williamston was "urban".
That had to be heartbreaking
