I put ACV in my goat's water. Besides making the water sweeter, and other obvious benefits, it's supposed to help keep the mosquito's from bothering them so much.
A short observation about a common garden item. Being from New England cucumbers are cucumbers period. No other name. When I moved to Sault Ste. Marie in 1999 my first experience with the term "pickle" had me in tears. A gardener said he was picking "pickles". What? How do you go from cucumber to pickle without adding vinegar? Is this just his unusual term? Well, obviously, I have heard the term over, and over, now for 15 years. Yesterday I saw a sign that read "pickles for canning" LOL, you mean "pickling cukes"? I'll never give in to this one - Cukes are Cukes until you add Vinegar and make em pickles!
Disclaimer: My Mom's from Michigan City, Indiana and her family were farmers but I've never asked her what they called Cucumbers. I'll have to do some research.
