Dead leaves for goat treat/feed?! What in the world have I been doing all these years!!

I have trees! I have goats! I have a yard full of leaves right now & NEVER thought to give it to the goats. We've always mowed them into the ground with the mulching blade. Oh my word. NO MORE! (I can hear my goats now... "Maah, we want to eat all that!! Don't mow them! Nom nom! Maah!!")

Thank you for opening my eyes to this.

Oh & while I'm on the subject of goats... I really think they should add this emoticon to the options list. LOL!!

They have chickens & a bunny... Why not some other small farm animals?

...HAPPY HALLOWEEN everyone

So, as per usual...it was gorgeous &'warm earlier in the week. Today, rain, cold rain & snow mix & a wind advisory starting JUST before the little goblins go trick-or-treating...seems like this happens every year!

I don't have kids, nor do we get any trick-or-treaters (at least never have in the 6 years I've been here), but I do feel bad for the little ones :(

Me, I have a NICE fire going in the wood burner...toasty warm in here

Happy Samhain. It is also Majick's birthday. The old guy is 15 now. His back legs sometimes fail him and he is deaf as a stone now. He still does pretty well for his age.

I just bag up the oak leaves (while dry) in used feed bags. I have a dozen, or more, in the barn. I've been doing that since day one of owning them. I still mulch the maple leaves though. You've got to be quick before the snow covers them.
