Yep, aart got it! Jugging helps keep the ewe from just wanding off from the baby... helps keep them closer to aid in bonding and... helps to keep the other sheep away while Penny was in labor etc.

I'm only a few miles from Toledo, but I don't have any room for roosters, I'm afraid.

And now I know what "jugging" means.
So I ventured into TSC and escaped unharmed. All that the South Lyon store had were ISA browns, mixed bantams and ducks. Nothing that I needed (wanted).

While waiting for a prescription at Meijer, I looked at the bargain bin of DVDs. I picked up "Old West Outlaws - 20 Western Films" for $4.99. Some of these films are so terrible that they are funny. Even the ones with big name stars.

I just built a jug for my goats. But, I made 8 foot long by 4 foot high panels that connect with pins at the ends. Basically stock panels. There's an article somewhere on the net that I got the idea from. A sheep farmer uses them but makes them 4 foot long by 32" high. I figured with a small dog crate inside as a creep I could go as big as 8 feet and still creat the same effect. Plus if a goat has multiples, like your's did last year, I would have enough room. We'll see how it works out pretty soon.

Going to be nice ALL WEEK! But, instead of tapping trees today like I wanted I was elbow deep in the wife's Subaru all day. At least her car runs again and I can start the tapping tomorrow. Have a great week - I sure plan to.
