Michigan Thread - all are welcome!

Sitting here drinking coffee and waiting for the sun to come up. I did take a flashlight and checked the traps I set yesterday. I was quite pleased to discover that two potential predators will no longer be a threat. A large coon succumbed to the allure of sardines in a bucket with a conibear trap, a feral cat is sitting in the live trap.

This weekend I ended up sick so all the rooster changes were delayed. That means Mr. Odin has been in the house a week. Do not, I repeat, do not ever get a house rooster! The noise is crazy. He was a very quiet rooster until he discovered it was all his territory and he didn't have to watch out for anyone else. Now he won't shut up!

I have notice a couple neat things. No matter how noisy our house, how many lights are on, he finds his spot, tucks his head under his wing and goes to bed at the same time. Also his crowing starts at 6:30 am on the dot. My husband getting called in at 4 and all the lights on didn't change that and he changed with the time change. Sweet guy, will be glad to boot his butt back to the coop.

Tonight's supper was a boiled dinner of corned beef, cabbage, carrots, and potatoes. Sure tasted good, and having made the corned beef myself from the beef my son gave me made the meal even better.
