Michigan Thread - all are welcome!

Hello, I am up here in Sault ste. Marie Michigan. I am in the process of building a chicken coup and run, and expecting our first chickens in the mail by May. Been snooping around this site for information and expertise in raising Chickens, and wanted to stop in and say hello. :)
Welcome!

Welcome neighbor to BYC and the Michigan thread :D

Cuteness Alert! Momma Broody is so good she lets my December chicks (not hers) sleep under her...well, as much as they can fit. The two in the front are ones she hatched, the two on the sides are incubator babies :)

Hello & welcome. If you brood in the house or its reliably warm outside you can use a regular bulb instead of a heat lamp for them. Just check to make sure it can keep the correct temps.

I came up with 49.3 years.
me too. Did you find someone to feed for you while you are out of commission?
Good momma Jeanie & Chicks.

No. Not yet.
I'm not even sure yet when the surgery will take place. It depends on how the heart catheterization goes on Thursday. That will determine the time-line for the big cut. So I have a couple of weeks to get organized and line up some help.

Thanks for asking.
