Hello & welcome. If you brood in the house or its reliably warm outside you can use a regular bulb instead of a heat lamp for them. Just check to make sure it can keep the correct temps.

18,000 mornings \ 365 days = 49.32 years Just decided to drop in to say hi, haven't been on in a while.

Did you find someone to feed for you while you are out of commission?

No. Not yet.
I'm not even sure yet when the surgery will take place. It depends on how the heart catheterization goes on Thursday. That will determine the time-line for the big cut. So I have a couple of weeks to get organized and line up some help.
