Thank you, my friend, and your family for your service and sacrifice. I'm honoring my father-in-law this weekend--he passed away 13 years and 3 weeks ago. Never forgotten.

10x12 = 120 sqft divided by 22 = 5.45 sqft per chicken.So.. I have 27 chickens, and they all are healthy and growing big. I built a coop 10 by 12 gamble style. I wasn't expecting all the chicks to live, I know that sounds horrible.. Will that be enough room for my chickens? We are still putting the Chicken Run in, but will take pictures of it soon. Oh yes, Five of the chickens will mostly re-homed or eaten, so only 22 chickens if no other cockerels pop up. It's 3 feet per chicken, I think I saw somewhere on here?

4sqft per chicken is a minimum(IMO) rule of thumb.
Sounds pretty good to me.......if all that 10x12 floor space is usable by birds.
Could get tight if you have any 'behavioral' problems.
Even better if you use roosts with poop boards as it offers some space during those long winter days they can't/won't go outside.
What breed?Does anyone have a picture of a 6 month old cockerel vs. pullet? I can't figure out what mine is and can't find many pictures of 6 month olds!
In my limited experience that is what I was thinking as well. I'd also be curious to see pictures of the lovely ladies/gents.What breed?
Probably best to post good pics(full body side view and close up of head) of your bird here or on the 'what gender is this' forum.
At 6 months hackle and saddle feather should be easily identified.....if it's not already crowing or laying.
