Michigan Thread - all are welcome!

Just got back from a trip to New York for the birth of my grandaughter! Of course, she's beautiful and I had a hard time leaving to come home. However! Poor DH had to make a few detours on the way home to pick up several dozen Pheasant eggs (somewhere in Ohio) and some Mallard eggs in Rockwood. He refused to stop at a roadside sign declaring "EGGS" however as we had lost our way (doggone GPS) and ended up on a road called "Desolation Trail". :/

Anyway, I didn't break the news that we were stopping at these pickups till the way home, and he just looked at me and said, "Really? Really? Even on a vacation to see our new grandaughter you are obsessed with eggs...unbelievable." Hey, ya gotta do what you gotta do. :D

Here's a quick peek at our lovely Celeste Margaret, born July 29. 7 lbs 8 oz of perfection.

Sorry I won't be able to catch up on this thread. Hope all is well.

But I just heard Highland Feed Store burned down! I hope every thing is okay there, I go to that place sometimes. :hit

So how did everyone enjoy the storms today? We (shockingly) still have power and didn't have any trees go down but looking at Facebook it seems like we are the exception. I know at least 4 trees went down at my parents and their driveway (for 8 houses) is blocked and power lines are down in the road about a mile from them. Nature sure put on a spectacular show today!

I met one of our group members today. Amy pt

She went down state to visit family and came all the way up to my farm in Lapeer to deliver my newest members of my cochin bantam flock.
I got a very nice pair of lavender cochins from her and her kiddos. Had a great visit and im beyond happy with the beautiful healthy birds she sold me.
Thanks so much Amy!!!

Just got home from vacation 10 min before storm #1 hit. Thunder, lighting, hail, crazy winds, downed trees & lost power :( thankfully we have a generator! The chickens HATED the storms and the ducks froze bills up in the air, is that normal duck behavior? Also think our Peking drake might have bumblefoot :-(
