So how did everyone enjoy the storms today? We (shockingly) still have power and didn't have any trees go down but looking at Facebook it seems like we are the exception. I know at least 4 trees went down at my parents and their driveway (for 8 houses) is blocked and power lines are down in the road about a mile from them. Nature sure put on a spectacular show today!

Worst of the line just finished rolling thru here. still putting on a hell of a light show to the south of here. Need to open up the windows here soon.

Storm must have made her pop. Weather can do that. Got a friend on facebook that her baby opted to come in today.

My nephew got stuck on the mac bridge for 3 hours because of the turned over truck. A friend of the family has a home over in Glen Arbor on the water... they're up there now assessing the damage. We rode the Harleys up north this weekend....... managed to skirt all the bad storms except one. Luckily we took the east side of the state to come home. but got caught in one storm near Standish... Hail and strong winds. We were standing (4 of us) in a group hug waiting for the hail to stop pummeling us and a person with an suv, came to our rescue. It was still a good weekend.

This was a storm forming over lake Superior, just east of the bridge... it was cool watching it suck up the clouds (dark line above pine tree in center) into it'self... Luckily we skirted this one.......and several others....

This one, nailed us!

Glen Arbor got NAILED. We live about 20min south of it. They're saying a tornado went through. Couldn't get in or out of the village last night because of all the trees that were down in the road (not sure how they've progressed on that clean-up wise.) In Cedar....which is east and a little north of glen arbor.....an entire HOUSE (possibly a garage?) was blown into main street. I still cannot believe that we didn't lose power at our house. Old Mission peninsula is mostly without power and they're talking DAYS before restoration.

I was so glad to see some rain but wish it could have been a bit less dramatic. We were in church when the first storm went through and lightning took out a tree, knocked down the power line which caught the pole on fire and started a grass fire. I think there was a total of three trailers/campers overturned on the bridge. Not where I would want to be in a storm, I've done it before! My co-worker had a tree come down and kill her favorite cow. She now has an orphan to care for. We only saw rain and wind at our place. During the worst of the storm our wild turkey hen and poults were nested down in the middle of the hay field. They are some tough birds!

I've had a very daring coyote around lately. At 6 this morning I was running around the yard in pj's, crocs with a gun trying to chase him off. He was about 20 foot from the house again this time. However, after rethinking his brief appearance, size and behavior I am wondering if it was a wolf. My brother heard one a couple miles from here about two weeks ago. I may have to do some shooting with a camera until I'm sure what he is.

They were born during the midst of the storm! Even during the earlier stages of labor you could feel the oncoming storm, the air pressure was really starting to fall. There is definitely a correlation between low pressure systems and births in humans and animals!
