Michigan Thread - all are welcome!

We are a quiet group! I've been working, and watching the hurricane coverage, and NEVER going to live where they occur! Only visiting, in good weather.
My last group of broody raised chicks are 6.5 weeks of age, and I'll have an EE bantam boy, a Belgian d'Uccles boy(s), and a very cute d'Uccle/ EE bantam cockerel. Anyone? Mary IMG_0719.JPG

We use to be such a chatty group. Miss those days. Really got to know each other in a fun way.
Are you almost done, RaZ? Hard to do all by yourself. It's amazing the things we find when moving.

We've lost a lot of the old people. That's sad because we really did chat a lot and got to know each other pretty well.
Maybe everyone left because I asked for help in moving.

So anyone want to help this weekend?

Yeah, watched a lot of the animal rescue videos and how people were riding out the storms with their animals. There was one family that put gate panels in their brick home so that they could keep their horses safe from Irma. almost think I could do that in my apartment if I could get horses down the half stairway. Not sure I would get my deposit back after that however.

Sorry, I'm busy most of the weekend, and on sunday the 3 weeks are up, so I might just start introducing the new chicks to the big girls. I let them have a little outside time yesterday in the old coop.

Been a super busy summer. Another grand baby a month ago, more animals, construction, fishing, and soon hunting...sorry but that's my story. So, HI everyone. Oh, I did pick up a gift for the raffle table for Chickenstock 2018. Saw a little something at tractor Supply so I figured why not. Now if I could just start some Christmas shopping early

Tonight when I went out to lock the birds inside, lots of drama. Bantam mama decided to roost up in the rafters, at least eight feet up there. Seven bantam babies, just over six weeks old, all screaming on the floor under her. No way can they fly up eight feet! She finally gave up and returned to them, so again tonight they are huddled in a corner, on the floor, under mama. I've got roosts one, two, three, and four feet high, but she needs to go to the max at eight feet! Really!?! Mary

So no takers on helping move this weekend?
Too bad. Could have scouted out some of the deer trails in my backyard. Or ventured to the lake for goose hunting or fishing. Or even gone out on Saginaw Bay for some deeper water fishing.
On the way out, I saw Sand Hill Cranes, wild turkey, white tail deer, and a lot of small game too. Spooked up some small ground birds too. They could have been quail or bob-white. I'm not sure what they were because they moved so fast in dense cover.

On the plus side, the extra day down here helped me to get more junk out of Mom's house. Staging that stuff in the GC house. I think I now qualify for an episode of "Hoarders" with all of the boxes stacked in my living room. But what a garage sale that will be when I get it all moved.

Had 4 coyote attempts in the last 2 days.
I think it dashed out of the woods at the birds in run and ran smack dab into the fence.
Red and gray fox did same earlier in the summer.
Only caught pics of the red in May, shows the setup, view now blocked by sunchoke growth, can't see the run extension at all.
