Michigan Thread - all are welcome!

Hello chicken friends! Got my coop wrapped on the side the wind blows in, found a home for the two Cuckoo Marans roosters (yeah!) so only have the splash EE left, this years girls and two keeper roosters hit with Ivermectin, the remaining 8 roosters hit with Ivermectin (that was a adventure in rooster catching in daylight) so only the adult hens to go tonight when they are roosting. I put plastic ties on this years girls as I found out no matter how much I try, I do not remember who was born what year :) As they say on Game of Thrones..."Winter is Coming". :)

I have been so far behind this year in getting ready for winter. We've gotten a lot of things done on the list this weekend so I feel almost ready for winter.

We are working towards moving out of Michigan here in about 5 years or so. We're whittling down some things and cleaning up stuff to get the house ready. I'm selling off all but 4 of my sheep. :( I'll really miss them all but couldn't bear to get rid of two of my favorite girls and two ewe lambs. I still like to spin and they are very helpful with keeping the grass down. I didn't have to mow my back yard at all this summer which was great!

Since half the trees froze with their leaves still on, when we shovel snow we also shovel leaves each time. Just all happened so fast, the warmer weather kind of fooled us into thinking we had more time to get everything done - and here it is, only 6 weeks until Christmas!

Indeed I was also lulled, most winterizing stuff is done.
Didn't get the garlic in tho.
I can't believe Tday is next week!
Have 2 fresh turkeys coming to be parted out for freezer,
need to get freezer sorted to make room.

Sitting here at the UM Hospital, pretty bored right now. Probably about another hour or so for them to get her out of surgery. Fusing the L4 and L5 together is a tricky operation.

Left the girls in the coop today and tossed in a milk jug full of treats for them to work out of it. That should keep them busy.
