Raz sorry to hear about all your bad luck. Eventually things will turn around for you.

Would love to go to CS18 not sure I can make it though it' about a 2.5-3 hr drive for me each way. I wish there was a gathering closer to me.

I'm NEVER ready for winter! Still doing the fall coop clean-out (half done so far) and have shrubs to plant. Not a problem, right?
Having a mouse explosion in the coop, under the broken concrete floor, and finally have added poison bait. Of course it got out of hand after it's too cold to pour new concrete out there; has to wait for spring weather. My barn cat was so afraid of the chickens, she wouldn't go into the coop!
She has moved to a new indoor home, which suits her, and I'm ready for a new more motivated mouser.

I've seen a lot of posts on FB about barn cats for adoption, might want to check it out. Wonders how you'd 'integrate'?
Think it may be too late to plant shrubs, they'll probably be fine in buckets for now.

I have overwintered shrubs and perennials by burying them in the pot in my vegetable garden, then planting then in the spring

SNOW!! Yup, winter has arrived with her spreading her white blankets on the ground. Ain't it pretty?

I know Soldans has barn cat adoptions.

Big wind storm that lasted for a few days. Big red oak tree fell across the road. Spent 2 days cutting, splitting and clearing debris. At least I got the road open.

There will be lots of firewood. 20 inch diameter trunk and 66 linear feet of tree. That's not counting the little branches and twigs. Forgot to bring my phone with the pictures.

Taking a break from the snow and wind chill at the library. Just for a little while.
