....and the water.

But....

'Chicking' the gaps should do the trick :D

I noticed my typo just now. Blame it on sore back, aching hands or just getting old. Take your pick. :plbb

There is hardware cloth under the slabs but you can't tell from the photos. The door is going to be a little more tricky to construct. I scavenged a steel entry door with a full double-pane light. It's heavy and will be set into a larger opening that also opens. The larger opening will let me get the yard tractor and wagon inside for cleaning.

Please chick for any typos. ;)

It really cracked me up, in like almost coffee spit on keyboard way, actually pictured chicks stuck to siding gaps.

Maybe trim round door with conventional lumber, then bring slab siding up to trim?

Got the roof covered and the back wall done. Well, almost done. It needs some trim work and the gaps chinked. Overall I'm pretty pleased with the results.

Talked to a neighbor and processed that rooster today. Looks easy enough to do, just not sure the boss would like to see my hands working around with that sharp of a blade that much. That and it might have been better if we plucked it versus just skinning him like we did today. But currently he's stashed in Mom's freezer and will be the guest of honor on Sunday.

Getting to be where we need some rain here soon. My chicken pen grass is all dried out and its getting covered in chicken bombs. Need a nice soaker or two to help break them up some.

Also caught this guy out in the barnyard today.

I guess he was probably leaving the pothole out in back of our field and heading for the pond, so I gave him a ride that way and sat him down in the grass by the pond. I figure it looked like a prime spot to be if I was a little turtle. Had to saved him at least most of the day getting there.
