OTOH one of the cockerels I slaughtered Tuesday was excellent on the grill last night.

It rained on me a few times Saturday while I tried to get this garage wall up. But with some seat-of-the-pants engineering (and a lot of cuss words) another section of garage wall went up.
It's getting there, it's getting there.

I'm not sure I want a lot of hours. I have so much work to do here. At least the people there are really cool.

Monday. I have to go down to the GC house. It was listed and sold this week. The GC Ordinance Nazi heard about it and took steps to block the sale. I won't go in to details here. But it means a trip down to address the issue(s) and engage an attorney.

They know it's their last chance to poke at you, and they figure they had better do it now. Pity that their life is so boring that they can't even be out on vacation so that that sale could go through and you could be free and clear of those morons in Garden City.

Sprayed down most of the coop and used the dust on the girls. Took down the nest boxes and gave them all a good hosing down with hot water in the shower rack. Only got 2 of the four back up as it was dark and I had already dropped one of the wingnuts that hold my nesters up already. Hopefully I can find it tomorrow with my magnet sweeper. That and I might want to give that plywood a good spray as well tomorrow morning.

Think tomorrow I'm going to set up the kiddie pool with some sand and DE in the smaller coop and let them used that as a dust bath. Might put a little more of the Permethrin dust stuff in there as well. And a big move with the pen and coop. I have kinda gotten lazy and hadn't really moved it around that much this summer. Just kinda enough to keep the chicken bombs from getting too thick in one spot. Sunlight would do a lot to kill off mite eggs right??

I would also suggest putting powder down where they like to dust bathe outside. I have the same issue with mine, I powder the run outside, roosts, bedding, birds.

Hey Raz, you should have 6x headers over your windows/Doors that are in a weight bearing wall. (eaves sides) Otherwise you might have issues with sagging, pressure on the windows to prevent smooth operation and cracked glass.

I can't believe GC are still at it. I would file a grievance against that person with the new Management.... is that a voted or appointed position?

Hey Raz, you should have 6x headers over your windows/Doors that are in a weight bearing wall. (eaves sides) Otherwise you might have issues with sagging, pressure on the windows to prevent smooth operation and cracked glass.

I know. They will be added after-the-fact due to putting the walls up by myself. I did the first section (10') with the doubled up header, like you are supposed to, but I could barely get it in place. So now, I make a box for the window and secure it with hurricane clips. Makes it quite a bit lighter. The headers will go in to prevent sag. It's a goofy way to do things but I have to find work-arounds, working by myself.

So I met Chickflick at the campground. I met her DH and some grand-kids.
We took a ride on the UTE from the park to my house. I think the GKs has a bit of fun on the ride through the woods. They sure liked to see the little chicks but especially liked the dogs. I'm so glad to have met so many good people on this forum. Rose and the kids made my night!

My realtor talked to the GC nazi today. Basically it is a personal thing just to mess with the sale. Time to hire a lawyer.

Can't the realtor handle it? They have a financial interest in the sale going through also.
