Michigan Thread - all are welcome!

We had about two inches of that white stuff here today, and the chickens tip-toed from grass clump to dirt clump, avoiding stepping in the snow. It was pretty funny!
And we found another hoard of Marans eggs in the barn. Blast!
Tomorrow they can stay in until after 3pm, again.

Hi everyone. I have a customer looking to get rid of 8 chickens all egg layers about 2 years old and 2 turkeys. His wife died of cancer a few weeks back and he doesn’t have the time to care for them properly other than water and feed them. He wants them to go to a good home. Please let me know if anyone is interested. We are between Detroit and Flint. And he isn’t sure of the breeds they were hers. But one might be a bantam.

I am doing this on my phone and all the options are reply to thread... not do a new post. So not sure if this is right.

I am a bag of mixed emotions today... tomorrow is opening morning and it's the first time my pops not here to join me... and it will more than likely be the last year I can hunt where I've hunted for 40 years, mom is moving out and selling the farm. I've never looked forward to and yet regretted something more than I do tomorrow.

I'm glad the 2" of snow we got yesterday is still on the ground. I think we're supposed to get a sprinkling of snow today? I got a bunch of things done Monday night in the snow. Cleaned out the area where the hay will be stored. Moved the feed storage bins to where the animals will be wintering over, filled the sheep's water tank. I need to finish the pig hut and chicken coop, including fixing a broken window pane in their coop. Guess I need to put up some hardware cloth to keep that from getting broke again or a bird from getting hurt.
The little buggers tore up the linoleum flooring I had down! The cheap rolls get thin and brittle, like paper, out in the elements. So I need to buy a thicker roll of something.

I need to do a ton more stuff... but it'll get done as I can... I just do what I can and that's it... I can't let it burden me like it has. Next year, I'm going to do things differently. At least I won't need to be packing up 50 years of my parents lives and try to manage my own affairs at the same time. :fl I hope.
