Michigan Thread - all are welcome!

Kids already told me they don't want my stuff. Just the money. I have a lot of my mom's things. The thing is, it's her handmade crafts that I can't part with. She did so much. Crochet, ceramics, 3-D pictures. It's what she loved doing and don't feel right just getting rid of it. I have beautiful crochet bedspread. Impractical, but beautiful. What do you do with it?

Remember Sam in your prayers as he going through surgery as we speak.

All the best for Sam this morning!
I know what you mean about the things that have emotional value, me too. And then I've got things that just don't seem to leave, through inertia on my part. And things of my parent's that I didn't want then, wish I'd kept...
Nostalgia is a powerful emotion!

Hi out there,
Just sharing our dinner. Deviled duck eggs tonight, because ducks just don't stop, or at least khaki's and their mutt friends don't. I didn't want to dirty my piping bag, and one or two didn't peel right, so they're not pretty, but they are still good. My chickens are molting slowly one by one, and any eggs they make are rather coveted right now.
I think tomorrow I might get out part of one of the eleven muscovy I butchered last week. I think I might be okay looking at it again.

Edited: Please disregard the sorry shape of the counter. The house's previous occupants didn't have a cutting board, I guess.

I guess I did something right with the new coop. Even though it has been wet and cold lately, the chicks are warm and dry. The water founts haven't frozen. No leaks or drafts even though it has been windy for several days. No predators have breached the welded wire and hardware cloth.
20 chicks are 12-15 weeks old now and doing well.

I think I'll do some wiring tomorrow for lights and outlets for the heated water units so Winter won't be so bad for the new littles. I don't heat or light for egg production but just to make it easier for me to work in the coop. I also have to wire the garage, so tomorrow should be entertaining.

Not much going on here chickenwise now that all winter coop chores are done.
Bit warmer the last few days/nights, did some leg mite treatment one old girl.

In the process of buying a new vehicle, my 13yo van is becoming undependable.
I hate car salesmen...SMH...will be glad when it's done in a couple weeks.

I am using lights(13hrs) so the pullets, and one yearling hen, are putting out.

Sam (Opa) is home and recovering.
Snow has melted and a lot of grass is showing. But, chickens will have to stay in the run. Been watching two huge hawks hunting in the field the last couple of days. Don't want one of my birds to be their lunch.
You are sure going to be busy, RaZ. It never ends....
Have a good day all...
