You all probably had a better day than me. I gotta call this morning to go help drag a dead horse out of a stall. Not one of ours, but some friends of ours. It was basically their daughters pony growing up and was 35 years old or so they think. she's now a flight attendant for Delta. Mom found him down this morning and they just couldn't get him to get up. Mom got ahold of them and they came down from Jackson to talk to the vet, and at least make it their call about it, but it was pretty much the only option. Vet did a blood draw on him and got a lot of black blood. And everyone there couldn't get him to get up. Best option was to just put him down. Thankfully, Mom was smart and talked Dad into building the stalls with swinging panel gates, so all we have to do it pop two pins and you can swing the whole stall front out. Makes it a lot easier to get them out that way. Thankfully he was small and light enough that me and my brother could roll him over and move him around to where we could get a tow strap on him and gently pull him out of the barn and out into the field. Sucks to see the old guy go, but at 35 years old you kinda have to expect that with them.
