Michigan Thread - all are welcome!

Well, I didn't get everything done today that I wanted. But the littles have full run of the coop now. The brooder pen is dismantled. Poor little girls don't know what to do with so much room to roam. They can go sideways and now vertically. 8 feet up rather than the 3 feet they had in the brooder. It will probably be spring before they get to out outside though. I still need to build the secure outdoor run for them.

So many chores, so little time.

My neighbor made this poncho for me.
A Man who walks down the street in a Poncho like that, people know that he's not afraid of anything.

I have got to check in a little more often.....

You all probably had a better day than me. I gotta call this morning to go help drag a dead horse out of a stall. Not one of ours, but some friends of ours. It was basically their daughters pony growing up and was 35 years old or so they think. she's now a flight attendant for Delta. Mom found him down this morning and they just couldn't get him to get up. Mom got ahold of them and they came down from Jackson to talk to the vet, and at least make it their call about it, but it was pretty much the only option. Vet did a blood draw on him and got a lot of black blood. And everyone there couldn't get him to get up. Best option was to just put him down. Thankfully, Mom was smart and talked Dad into building the stalls with swinging panel gates, so all we have to do it pop two pins and you can swing the whole stall front out. Makes it a lot easier to get them out that way. Thankfully he was small and light enough that me and my brother could roll him over and move him around to where we could get a tow strap on him and gently pull him out of the barn and out into the field. Sucks to see the old guy go, but at 35 years old you kinda have to expect that with them.

Well, maybe a dead horse beats me spending the weekend in the hospital. All is good now, but had a scare.
Sad to see our pets pass. Animals add so much to our lives.
Been so quiet on this site. Where is everyone??
Yesterday afternoon I let the chickens out to enjoy some grass time. Hawks have been hanging around here. I stayed out with them to keep them safe. Weather was so nice. We lasted about an hour and a half when two huge hawks flew overhead. Most ran into the run and chased the few in to lock up. Poor girls.
Have a good day...

I took a little road trip to Rock Island IL this weekend with my mom. We took some of my dads guns down to the auction to be sold. Hopefully she'll get a fair price for them.

Rose, hope you'll be ok. Hospital trips are no fun.
