Michigan Thread - all are welcome!

Those wood chips though...great find! I just downed 25 trees here and fed 3/4 of that through a massive diesel chipper that eats whole trees.
Sure wished I lived closer, could take some of those off your hands :D
Hoped to get another load tomorrow, lined up a truck but they can't load them due to another big project. Maybe next week.

UHG...hate the heat!
Got the rest of coop windows uncleated and propped open.
Shade cloths are next, maybe in the morning.
And I've got a plan for the fan.

Didn't take long to complain about the heat! lol
I hate the humidity! But... after the cold rainy spring, I'm not complaining... yet!
Chickens have plenty of shade and plenty of water to deal with the sudden heat. I need to get a fan in the coop, too. Didn't close the door till late just to let the coop cool down some.
Stay cool!

No, it sure doesn't, especially when it goes up so far so fast.
Yes, the humidity makes it worse fast...affects the birds more too.

Got 1 shade cloth up this morning, 2 more to go and won't put those up until I get the 4th I just ordered. Used a tarp in the 4th place last year and it really helped, but tarps hold water so that was a PITA.

Chicks are mingling more with the flock now that they are familiar with the main run....nice to see.

My first day off in 8 days and I had to go down to the city (Fowlerville) for an appointment. Driving through all kinds of nasty storms on the way down. Then spent a couple of hours with an old friend...south of I-69. Broke my own rule but it was worth it.
Drove home with a beautiful sunset on my left. But more rain and fog as I turned east towards home.
It must have rained all day here. The chicken run is soaked but the birds are dry and cooped. I imagine that tomorrow with be muggy as all get out.

Home from another closing shift. It was sunny and beautiful all day here but the dang run is still pretty wet. I must have the only patch of clay ground in the entire county. On the other hand it has rained for more days than what made Noah build a boat.

The last few days have been dry here. HOT and humid. Low spots are still spongy. I enjoy the evenings when the back yard and deck are in the shade. I do not like being in the sun when it's so hot. Took the grand kids to a splash pad yesterday to beat the heat. Luckily there were shade trees around. Well, summer is finally here!
Enjoy the sun, everyone!

We had to make the hard decision to put one of our dogs down Saturday. He had a paralyzed Pharynx, and though we kept him in AC - when he wanted to go outside to go potty, it was just too much for him with the heat and he wasn't recovering from the pharynx closing. He was 13, which is pretty good for a mastiff.. but still never long enough.
