Michigan Thread - all are welcome!

It's finally cool enough! I'm never ready for winter though either.
This morning I need to don that hazmat suit from Home Depot and get after our bumper crop of poison ivy. I've been putting it off all year...

I'm going to pull as much of it out as possible, because it's toxic, dead or alive. The root systems can go out ten feet, and break easily, so this won't really remove all of it. Little starts do come out, and as the stuff grows back, I need to do better at keeping it at bay.
The only reason I'd ever want a goat...

OH good luck pulling that out! I hope you don't get any of it on ya! That's one of the reasons I miss my goats! I've half thought about getting a little whether to do just that!
I've been spraying an area all summer for ivy. Crap is still coming up! Next spring, I'll hit it hard again as soon as the leaves start.

We finally got our shop done structurally, electricity is going in soon! I have some insulation in our attic that we can use in my studio.. I'm hoping we can make it so I can actually start using it soon. Though the way work is I'll be lucky to be home at a reasonable hr to do anything... putting in 12 hr days lately and lots of travel till the end of the year into January.

I love the weather we're having right now. Cool at night warmer in the day. (less bugs too). I have a ton to do to prepare for winter - was hoping to stock up hay, but it's going to be hard to get and expensive this year. Most places only got first cuttings in.

My new manager let me know that I am at the level where I have free reign to work from home or go to the office as needed. Kinda takes a little getting used to. I plan to wfh a couple days a week. I can get more done when I don't have so many interruptions.. plus with the new puppy coming, I'll be able to stay with him more. I still need a name for the little guy.

Raz, you're awful quiet..

Anyone hear an update on Sam?

Ummm I don't think those two thing go together ;)

WFH can be great, does take some getting used to, was hard for me to stay on task at times.

Just so busy... I read here, but not posting too much. Have a huge hatch going, planning for our annual chicken meat hatch. Grand kids and sports, dance, gymnastics, etc. We have some Ancona drakes that need a home soon. My Penedesencas are curious fun little birds :) Still no word on the rest of my order from Sandhill.. :hmm
