Michigan Thread - all are welcome!

Could really use a good frost and knock down all the bugs and whatnot down for the fall. Only today its gotten cool enough that we've felt comfortable enough to unplug the AC unit here in our apartment.

Though we was going to adopt a cat last weekend. had him all picked out and brought home, and then Amy had all sorts of anxiety about him here in our space. He was a front declawed cat that was owner surrendered because he bit her, but we kinda think it was because she had brought in another cat into the house and he wasn't liking that. That's the story we got from the Huron Humane Society. Had him all home and everything all set up for him, but Amy just couldn't deal with it. Probably didn't help her any that she's been stressed out about work currently as she's about just a month into a new temp position to cover for another Best Buy Employee who's on Maternity leave. Popped the kid out the day before the wedding actually.

Interesting...I've been closing down the windows and one day was tempted to turn the heat on.
My thermostat doesn't have an ON/OFF button. All I can do is set it to the lowest setting. The furnace has kicked on a couple of times. Lows in the 40s and one night down to 37.
So I've been working on getting the firewood ready for the season. I haven't had a fire yet but I think it will be soon. Got several fallen, aged trees ready to be pulled out of the woods. That will be tomorrow's chore.
Today's chore was re-doing the chicken run to make it more secure. Those damn Sapphire Gems I got in spring can fly quite well. They can clear the 6-foot fence with ease. So I'm re-doing the run with higher fence and top netting. It's a real PITA to drill post holes in this rock-infused clay soil. Bent my auger and got it stuck a few times. But I should have it all done tomorrow.
So I'll be busy tomorrow, putting up fence / netting and skidding out fire wood. Anyone want to help?

I have 3 thermostats, 1 for each zone, only 2 can be turned off. Got down to 40 last night but walkout basement zone probably didn't kick on, stays pretty warm down there, still 60 up there even with one window cracked.

Sorry, nope....taking down shade cloths today and continuing to edge hardscaping for drainage.
