Used a broken pallet to make a cradle for the post hole digger. It's not pretty but it keeps the digger upright and easy to mount.

ETA I just need a better spot to store it. It will probably go behind the garage now that I have exterior lights on that side. I have enough lumber to make a mini shed for it.

Same here. I struggled for a year with mounting and dis-mounting that damn thing. It was always falling over or swinging around if I used a hoist. This thing is pretty secure now.

I hear ya about the hands. Mine ache like mad after 3 days of chores. Roofing, building, wiring, hole digging, and toting shingles up the ladder a thousand times.

I'm just bossing hubby around to get things done. I'm just hobbling around training my new improved knee. I get to sit outside some to enjoy this beautiful weather we're having.

No, roof isn't done yet. About half of the north side is done. I have the next 2 days off so hopefully I can use at least one of them for roofing. Also need to get more firewood laid in before winter.
To that end, a tree trimmer friend brought his bucket truck over and dropped a couple of dead trees for me. One over the garage and the other over the coop. He also limbed a few dead branches over the house too. I should be safe from widowmakers and falling trees for this winter season. Plus more wood to heat the house. Just needs to be cut to length, split and stacked.

And to think I can do this without having a "boss".

Was wondering about that, you got a fake one installed? Is it improved? My sis got new hip, the immediate pain reduction/change was astounding, but still took a long time to fully recover. Hang in there!

No, roof isn't done yet.

Just tar paper up there? You have a lot of tough choices for winter priorities, but I would think shingles would top that list to protect your brand new building(that would drive me nuts!)...you don't want that tarp paper shredded off in the middle of winter.

Got all the power washing done yesterday, no more slippin' on the 'slime'!
I was hurtin' but it's kind of mesmerizing watching all that crap peel off, and not a job one wants to leave partially done...cause it's ugly and hauling the hose and cord out is a PITA, tho that went rather well.
Tractor shed ramp, coop shed steps and pad, even did the glass foyer in the run.
....and the patio. Glad I did the little stuff first or they wouldn't have gotten done.
Not sure I could have finished if I hadn't done most of it sitting on my little rolling stool seat...that was a brilliant idea, if I do say so myself, not sure why I didn't think of it on previous washings. Being down low was way better for directing the flow and keeping tip the proper distance from surface without that awkward 'break your back' stance.

Yep, I got a new knee. It's improved. It's hard work to get it moving again. But, looking forward to being able to walk without fear of falling...

I have synthetic felt for underlayment of the shingles. It is pretty nice stuff that can be used for roof gardens and such. It is supposed to be able to be fully exposed for up to a year. The south side of the garage roof "might" be a garden but the north side is shingles.

That power washing looks great. It is such a tedious chore. Glad you figured a way to make is easier.

It has gotten cold, windy and damp up here, and my hands a feet ache from that. I guess Winter is coming
