Michigan Thread - all are welcome!

Gonna put broody in the enclosure tonight....I've got my doubts, sh'es not as broody as my others....no 'trance', no 'fluffy pancaking' on ground when removed from nest, and not really tickticktickticktick broody clucking. Hope she sticks.
She didn't take to it last night, even in the dark so put her on the roost and was gonna break her today. She was in a main nest this morning and I stuck her back in the broody nest, she stayed for 10 minutes(longest yet) then got up to eat but was back on later.
Still hoping she 'sticks' :fl

I have one hen who is laying very thin shell eggs. They have food feed and oyster shell. Plus they get recycled egg shells. I guess there is always one problem child in the bunch.

I have one like that too. Sometimes her egg shells are okay (never great!) and other times really fragile. Does she eat enough oyster shell, or actually have a problem? Time will tell...
We moved the oyster shell to a more prominent location in the coop, so maybe that will help.

Have had a couple of these, despite direct dosing there was no improvement.

It's not so bad if I can get it before the others use the nest it's not much of a problem. I gathered eggs after work but a hen walked on the thin egg and broke it before I could grab it.

I usually keep the thin shells for myself.

Well, hopefully I'm all signed up for the PUI right now. For some goofy reason they wanted us to scan in some documentation, like our 1099's or W2's and send that in with everything else, probably why their server crashed this morning. Oh well, I was able to finish it tonight no problem once I figured out our new scanner.

Swelling has gone down. I can walk almost normally but any little twist or uneven step shoots pain up my leg. At least I've ditched the cane. Job is going well but the grand opening has been delayed by this virus situation.
