Michigan Thread - all are welcome!

I'm glad that you guys are enjoying my dilemma.

It took about an hour but I did get her chased back outside. At least she didn't poop all over the place. I need to get her back to the coop. Damn bird! :he

silly boy, you just needed to turn all the lights off and make her think it was night. Then you could have picked her up and put her in the coop. ;)

After she went back out she stayed on the porch then likely went under it to sleep. I didn't see her in the morning but she was back with the flock when I got home from work.

I sometimes wonder why I keep these silly animals. Then things like this remind me why...

Let the birds out to roam when I got home. Nice, sunny, clear day and I was doing some yard chores. Big Boy makes a sound that I had never heard him make before. At that noise, the hens (and even ducks) scattered into hiding places as fast as they could run.
I didn't see the threat but a minute later I see the eagle high overhead. BB saw it through the tree canopy. Good eye, Big Boy. You are earning your keep. :clap

I’ve been reading about doing a worm preventative as we go into the winter months.
Will you please offer thoughts and products you have used if you agree.
the girls are going into their first winter and I want to give them their best shot at remaining healthy. Thanks!!

I have never wormed my flock.

I do miss that, no rooster for 2 summers now. I miss the crowing too

Get fecals checked at the veterinarian's, don't just worm them without cause.
Mary
feclals are not always to get if you don't have a vet that knows birds. first time I tried that they asked me what they were looking for. knew nothing about chickens. You might want to look around and see if you can find a vet that knows a little about chickens.
