Michigan Thread - all are welcome!

@Dreamzchaser, Sheets of plywood (and other building materials) are 4x8 feet. If you keep your measurements in multiples of 4 (4, 8,12,16), then you will need to make fewer cuts. You also end up with more useable leftover pieces.

So going from 10 to 8 feet will help you to use your building materials more efficiently. And since they've gotten waaay more expensive, that is a good thing!
I was going for 8x8 but decided on 10x8. Yes lumber is pretty expensive these days and I have to pay for shipment because my chevy blazer can barely haul anything, :barnie

🤔12x12 🤔??? I like those numbers. I was born on a 21st, 🤪

Can you put a gutter on the low side of the roof to carry the rain away?
Sally, I was thinking to put some and at each end collect the water in drums that X has laying around here before he takes them, 🤪

I have a question. I am placing hardware cloth on the perimeter of the coop and run. However, I forgot to mention that I inherited extra pets when I bought the house. There are moles everywhere. Are they going to hurt my girls? Just wondering!!😟

No snow here, just rain. It's early to have such warm weather, and still looking for more snow.
Moles just dig trenches, and they are there because you have grubs underground. If my dogs actually got every mole they dug holes for, we'd have many fewer!
They do no harm thought.
Wide roof overhangs are so worth it! And build big! Look for cheap stuff on craigslist, the lumber yards, and the habitat restore too.
Anyone tearing out an old deck, for example. Might be good wood there, or ask at construction sites.

Had a couple periods of 'heavy snow squalls' here.
Didn't amount to anything.

Thank you ma'am. Funny but my X asked me if I wanted to keep them in the room and he will fix it up for them to stay. I thought about it but no. I am for sure gonna miss checking on them all the time. Especially after today. I went to change their water and moved the cover for a second and as I am putting the water in, Phoebe flew up the edge and onto my shoulder. She would not wanted to go back or anywhere. There was no chirping or peeping sound at all. She was so quiet wanting to stay on my shoulder. I tried getting her back but she walked on my back and had to bend over to avoid her falling down. She then moved forward and put her little head on my chest. I got teary eyes. I just pet her on top passing my hand from head to end and she was so quiet. I will try to get a picture next time. I will not be able to sleep with all that love I got from her,lol Should I fix them the guest room? No, They need to be chickens and not kids. Thank you again for the plans.

Geez, I work over the weekend and you guys blow up the thread with 4-5 pages of posts.
I read all of the posts but I'm too tired and unfocused to reply. Some people might think that is a good thing. :D

Never did get the snow that the radio said was supposed to hit. Did get periods of rain but my yard is not a muddy mess. I may not even need the pallet boardwalk I have to the garage and coop.

Working in the garden centre is a mixed blessing. I like the work and we have have some nice product. That is the bad side...I brought home some Pericallis annuals that are a stunning deep blue/violet flower. Hello, my name is Rand and I'm a flower addict....
