Michigan Thread - all are welcome!

No kidding. It's 80 degrees down here. I'm super hot. Had to walk my friends dogs while they were out of town and I was wearing a black t shirt and jeans man was I ready to pass out

HI everyone!
Hope your day went smooth. I did lots of laundry and cleaned bathrooms and rugs that I did not do it on Easter weekend. Spent time with the dogs and with the chickens. Tomorrow I will toss the deep litter in to compost and sanitize everything. That means, they will be walking around the room in a blanket to protect the rug from poop.
Had a talk with my sister about my health and she is happy with the way I was treated in Ann Arbor. It is just so far!!!! But was able to get my exercise equipment out and ready for workouts and burn the winter away, :fl

Funny and crazy, when I got back last night had problems with the alarm system so that was another thing that did not let me sleep in peace. So I did not call in the morning, yet I went out to the store and when I came back, since it was hot, I opened the windows. Freaking alarm went off and had forgotten the code. So I pulled it out of the wall and wrapped it in a few towels and my bed cover to minimize the noise. Finally got it under control. So I am heading to bed early, turn alarm on and get some sleep now that system is working, have a new password and my arm does not hurt. Have a good night, lovelies!

Have a goodnight Dreamz! I'll be heading to bed shortly too. I'll be lifting some weights then hitting the hay as well. Just wanted to catch up on some threads I missed today while I was at work.

I just finished practicing lacrosse in the backyard

My first real day working in the garden centre. The entire afternoon crew called in. So it was just the morning lady and me. It was kind of funny since my regular receiving team had call ins yesterday and today. I am literally working both ends of the building. Even got in some OT after being asked to stay over.

Didn't get home until after 9:30 so all I did was close up the coop. Didn't even collect eggs. I'll get up early tomorrow to tend to that. And the birds of course.

I love all of the book recommendations. I read every day. I'm always looking for new material.

I babysat a lot in high school. The kids would complain about homework. (Just wait kiddos; it gets worse... :gig )

I told them a lot of the stuff they are being asked to learn will not be relevant to what they do with their lives, but just bear with. There are two things to take to heart though: Learn enough math so that you don't have to count on your fingers. And learn to read, and read well. Then ANYTHING else in your life you want to learn about, you can find a book on it.

Big Ditto on the reading.
..and the math, even tho you may not use that math later,
it teaches you to solve problems, and to THINK!

Oh yeah. I loved math. I loved geometry. I'd do all the proofs, even when the teacher assigned half of them. The teachers liked me. The other kids... not so much...

I never argued with the older kids I sat for reading in bed. Read all you want, boys.

But I didn't have to get them up the next morning, either! :lau
