Michigan Thread - all are welcome!

Hi everyone! Missed you all a ton. Will pick up puter tomorrow. Will have to send hard drive somewhere else and is 800 plus. Anyways, it has been very difficult and in cell it's not easy to come and post but have read most of all. Will answer all tomorrow.

The girls are very nauty. The peck on the seabrights. I put them in the highest perch and they learned to stay up there. They kind of have a loft. Until last night that Phoebe flew up and pecked on them as they were sleeping. Put her in confinement. But today we fixed one wall, so they got free range. They stayed away but every so often, big girls will come to peck on them. It is exhausting! They would not go back inside. It was a pain. Ha to run after them and get one by one. Put the seabrights on the loft and Phoebe pecked them down and the others were having a party with them. Tried to put wire on the border of the top but little girls were not having that. So I took it out and left. If they are dead tomorrow, will give them the proper burial. I give up. Will post pictures in the week. Need so much needed "z's"

Morning my lovelies! Getting ready to go to town and visit the veterinary to get Pixie's monthly pills that is due on the 6th. Freaking out because last evening saw my first tick by my kitchen entrance. Never got bitten but took many out of fellow soldiers in the woods. They freak me out. My friend's sister got lime and she has suffered a lot for about a year.
Funny, this morning went to check the coop for casualties and they are all alive. Gave them oats for breakfast and while cleaning the poop the americauna Blanch flew up to the loft and the little seabrightes pecked her down. That was fun to see. Ok. On my way out. Love ya all

Scrambling the next few days to get ready for this:

Need to get shade cloths up...and mowing haying done.

My littles are just over 2 weeks old now and I put a baby perch in there last night since they appear to perch on my finger when I go to handle them. 2 of them were on the perch this morning when I checked on them! It is shocking to see how different this bunch is compared to my first batch from the farm and fleet last year. The bigs didnt seem nearly as active as my littles at the same age. Perhaps it is because im not as freaked this year.

At what age are they ready to be moved from the brooder into their baby coop in the garage? I am going to use that one until they are ready to go into the big girl coop. The plan is to section off a portion of the big run for them to get acclimated to the bigs but not sure of the timing.

Also, just transplanted some hostas I received from an old neighbor. Out of two huge plants that have never been split, there are over 20 smaller splits that are planned to start framing the driveway. She has 2 more huge ones I am digging out today and stella day lillies. I want them in the ground before the heatwave arrives. #progress.

@Dreamzchaser, I'm glad you can keep Rose. Thanks for the pictures and video; you made me laugh! Good luck with the computer. Dang, how've they've gone from a rarity to a necessity...
You got that right Sally. It is unreal but it is how life is now. I had contemplated the off grid living but have no idea how people stay connected. I guess they do not which it could be a blessing in disguise. Things are getting more and more difficult on a daily bases.
