Michigan Thread - all are welcome!

Randy, my daughter's GR passed away from cancer a few weeks ago. We were all devastated. Their sweet personality melts your heart. Shelly said no more. It hurts too bad. I knew better. Even her husband that hated everything, said he really misses her. Their Border Collie all of a sudden became fearful of everything. Well, they pick up their new GR July 17th. I can't wait. Miss Roxie's squinty smile and her sweet personality. Just saying, I know how much you miss having a GR. Hope you can find one soon.

Dream, you need a run. They can be outside when you are not able to watch them or leave. Not safe to let them free range all the time. Mine go in the run when I have to leave because I know I have predators.

That's why he would be guiding me through it. I'm paying for it to be built that's why I wanted to do it. He has all these great skills but me and my brother don't because instead of showing us he goes ahead and just does it.

It's more of a learning experience for me so when I'm officially on my own and with my own family I'll be able to know how to do those certain things
you can still learn by watching and don't be afraid to stop him and ask why he did something that way or what the next step is.

So I called the person multiple times and I texted them a bunch. Finally I requested the money back and they didn't give it back so then I called the support group for paypal, tried to see if I could file a report with the police but they said they can't do anything with it even though I had the phone number, email, original ad posting, the transaction numbers but nope police won't so squat. So I called my bank to see if they could reverse it and nothing.

Long story short I tried everybody and I just don't have a dog or $350

This is why you adopt and don't shop folks 😂
make it public! Where ever you saw the add or plaster it and the persons info on FB - make it harder for them to do it to others.

Real dog breeders aren't the problem - I buy my dogs from reputable breeders that I get to know after doing my homework. I'm not above adopting, I've had a few. Don't mean to come across mean on that cause I was a breeder at one time and people can be real A-hats to sell too - that's why I quit.

Hope everyone had a happy fourth weekend.
We had a party at our house complete with a couple hay rides and fire works at the neighbors house. I had fun, but I really hate hosting parties and they're a lot of work.

Seriously, there are NO DUMB Questions!!! There are only learning questions!!!

Oh - and I got ducked this weekend too!

I think I can get the logic. I've always got my dogs from a shelter or private adoption situation. But I got my first Golden Retriever from a Yuppy who bought the dog as a status symbol and couldn't cope with an adult dog. Got the second from a store that thought the pup was "defective". The third came from a "breeder" who didn't have the AKC paperwork. I did pay $100 for this one. Each one of these dogs were perfect in every way and I f

ell in love with the Golden Retriever breed.

It's been 3 years since my GR Maggie died and I have been wanting another one so bad. So bad, that I would consider paying someone for one. But I don't want to go to a breeder or puppy mill for one. A rescue GR is what I'd like best. A pup or a senior would suit me fine.

Having said that, if I find any dog from a shelter or adoption service that fits in my little zoo/farm, they can find shelter here.

Still, I might be tempted to actually buy another Golden.
you might be very happy with a mix:) My son in law wanted another St. Bernard, they have become expensive so he found a St. auzie mix . had to go to Indiana to pick it up, called me to see if I wanted one as they had a couple left, and my dogs had died a yr. before. I said yes and am so glad I did. I have had very nice dogs before and was hoping he would take after the Auzie and be a little smaller. But no, He is by far the sweetest dog ever.
