Michigan Thread - all are welcome!

I have never been able to decide when we should go from 'chick' to 'pullet'.
Maybe when they start 'honking', that hilarious stage between peeping and clucking.
It would be much easier to decide if "pullet" lent itself to endearment versions as well as "chick" does. Pullies, pulleties, pulletidies, pulletettes. Bah

The Jubilee Orpington has been doing that for a while now. The Blue Australorps are just starting to do that. I don't recall my first birds doing that, but they were generally quieter. The pullets will make noise non-stop sometimes. Soft, but there. Kind of sweet, actually.

My roo, Darl, has made the funniest noise, on two different occasions. It's like a loud SQUEAK! He did it this morning, three times in a row. Is that a chicken sneeze?

Happy Labour Day.
I'm not getting anything done at all. Pain level is just too high to do any thing. Right arm is in a sling that the ER gave me last week. Pain meds aren't working at all. I have a darn sinus infection on top of it all. I'm falling apart. :old

I did manage to get to the car show on Sunday. It was a great day. Two of my buddies were there with their cars, a 1949 Plymouth (all original) and a 1972 Charger (show room condition). 121 cars were on display. All kinds of beautiful machines all driven to the show, no trailer queens.

Here is my girl Betty. I wish my dad was here to see this. I think he would have really liked it.

My roo would make a strange noise when there was a predator over head, took me some time before I realized that what that noise was. But the hens knew, they all vanished, under bushes or something
