What’s the unity festival?

Having a blast! Sanctus Real are amazing! Unity Festival is a 4 day concert of Christian music. Today is free. This year big tickets are Big Daddy Weave, Sanctus Real, Crowder, Riley Clemens,Mathew West, Mike Donehey who is now a solo artist but used to be part of the group Tenth Avenue North, Jason Gray and more. It's on every August.

This is like Woodstock for Christians without the drugs,lol
We Are Messener is on and they are from Australia. Before covid, it was superb with Toby Mac, For King and Country. It is always a blast here. Just to have a huge set up just for us who love to worship Christ unashamed!

@Folly's place Mrs Mary never be afraid of telling me anything. You have more experiences than me and I appreciate every comment you and everyone here. That is the reason I am here to learn and to prove my experiences and see what works for me and not. I know you mentioned and I have been looking into it. Code calls for wider rafters like 2x6 at 4-6ft apart. We used 2x4 but they are at 22inch apart with crossed 2x4 every 3ft between the rafters. They are not just length wise but have studs in between to make sure they hold snow. The chicken run scares me now because it was made with 2x3 and not many cross boards in between. Will go out in a minute to take pictures of the under part of the roofs. I know you mean well mainly for me. We all know that animals can be replaced but we can't. I love you all because of this care that you all have for everyone. About to finish this stupid medical video they are making me watch,lol

Ok, it has been a headache to put the hardware cloth. It inclines, so it is a put and take out to redo,

Anyways, earlier I took pictures of the inside of the roof for the ducks. It is not at 22in but at 19in every other rafter with a stud in between. He put them right this time instead of flat and you will see the ones inside the chicken run next. He also put 4x4 bolted to the frame at each corner and in the center as well.


As for the chicken run, he did not do that well. Howe,it held really good the snow load without pulling it down ever. It just melted there. It leaks,lol but it held the load. As you can see, they are some studs between the rafters but flat, which holds less, and more than 22in between rafters. I cannot measure because I will have to get the ladder into the chicken run but there are pictures of the area of the clear, good for nothing roofing,lol. The sun still comes in hard through it.


Then here are pictures of my first tomato harvest and one is like a triple tomatoe, The green one fell as I was getting this huge one. The plants have lots of them but they are green.

However, the peppers are nice. Have to get some of the tiny onions and buy garlic to make sofrito,


And that it pretty much on that.

The quackies are huge. I have no clue of their age but @RaZ said they were hatched about the weekend of CS22. There are only 2 that I can notice a bluish/greenish color on their wings but some are bigger that others and they are all loud and just a few are softer, so no way for me to know who is drake and who is hen. Some places say that the Drakes have a darker color beak but I can barely notice a difference in their beaks yet. Others say that the hens are louder, who would have thought of that, I can see a lighter beak on the one with the colored wing feathers but just gonna wait and see.


P2fa and P3 with a greasy tail because I put my truck in the back so they have Xtra shade while running around with me and since they are white, they get grease from the bottom of my truck.


Then is Pitbull who is always with Baby'mama. He is learning to stay away from the other hens. I do not know why but he will not mate with the others when he gets close and they go down for him. He begins pecking them instead. I think Baby'mama has him on check,

Those crossties will help stiffen the roof framing, but you still need plenty of posts to hold the whole thing up under snow load. You live very near the lake so heavy lake effect could dump a ton there.

THREE tree frogs on the coop hydrant today! All different, all cute. They like the space under the black rubber bucket that's always on the hydrant.

@aart Yes, it has 4x4 in a few places and others double 2x4. I worry more about the wind. The chickens are right by the house, so that gives them a little protection. But the ducks will be by the garden all under the trees.

@Folly's place Mrs. Mary, my girls would love that "Mediterranean diet" lol Jeebers, still have to finish the movie Thirteen Lives" hard to stream with Hughes internet.

@1muttsfan Mrs. Michelle, they are huge. They do not fit in the kiddy pool, yet,they dump themselves in no matter what. They make me laugh all the time. They are really growing beautifully! I let them out and to bring them inside is like crazy. Walk forward, lift right arm, they go left. Lift left arm, they go right

Just a quick note before I head to town and my volunteer duties for the Cheeseburger kick-off concert.
Went down to my buddy's woods and we pulled out 3 big ash trees. He has an antique bull dozer that we used to drag trees up to a clearing for easier bucking of the wood. Still, we worked our arses off in the hot sun and cool shade of his woods. Got my dumb ass tangled in a thicket of picker plants. Tiny hooked seeds that itch like crazy. I did avoid the poison ivy that I saw down there.
Came home and tended to the birds. Cleaned and filled founts, filled feeders, and changed the kiddy pool for the ducks. The ducks hatched while I was at CS22 and they are now all the same size as the adults. Dreamz took home a dozen and I kept 4. So far I'm not seeing any drake feathers so my fingers are crossed that they are all hens.

Time now for a shower and shave so I look respectable for tonight. Also a spritz of good cologne in case I meet any cute girls. Of course you know that I'll be flirting with all of the ladies.
