Take a look at this chick, the only one with a tiny red pick at the top just like mama:


Caught red-handed squealing,lol That's a boy,lol Wish I had been able to record him. He gave all he got,yet no real crow yet,lol

Lil'Mama and chicks are doing really good in the main coop with the rest. Pitbull and Baby'mama are in their half coop in the run. Have to close the nests because Lil'Mama and chicks would rather sleep in.


However, this morning was a bit late to open the nests but P2 seemed to have no trouble laying her egg,lol

I think it took skills to keep it from falling on the floor.

I bought my German hard-neck variety garlic from a farm stand many years ago, seems to do well here.

Lost a bird today, one of our oldest. She was a Belgian d'Uccle hen, aged five, who died suddenly shortly before i let them out. Purple comb and wattles, probably a heart issue, and appeared healthy until this. Sorry to see her gone, one of the few who survived our dog disaster that took so many.

She was part of the little d'Uccle group that will live here until they are gone, and we aren't raising any of their chicks because of their inbreeding problem. Cute, sweet, and will be missed.

The first chickens we had, thirty years ago, were in part ancestors of these birds. Hate to not have d'Uccles any more!

DONE FINITO FINISHED The roof is finally finished,lol

We only have to close half of teh fron wall. Double door, one bigger than the other for cleaning and be able to enter the wheelbarrow if needed. I only have to put hardwarecloth at the bottom of one side of that front wall but the girls messed what I tilled, so I have to do it again. maybe in the early morning tomorrow.

Quackies are huge! They are flying! Yeap, they fly from the front of the chicken run door to where the pool is set at. I have been reading and watching youtube videos for ideas on how to make it easier for me to clean. There is no way to make it less messier,lol but maybe easier for me to clean it. I scraped half crap from their area in the run. Nasty! Anyways, moved it out but my girls needed to see what it was and mess with it. So they just scattered it around and it is drying, at least! I was thinking something llike a slab of concrete with drainage towards the yard into the trench I made (mainly gone becasue of the girls and the quasckies,lol) I was also discussing with hub to make a nice stand outside and place the pool outside. They can come and go as they please. That way the mess can be minimal and draining towards the back of the property that we are not using at all.
Peeps are true teens. They abuse that poor momlike there is no respect. They fricking stand over her and she is so calm about it. She still covers them with her wings at night, so cute! The other girls are more linient to them and not pecking at them much. Pitbull is an amazing dad! HE is always looking out for them but like a cuban boy, he is always with Baby'mama because she is the only one that gives to his needs,lol

The broccoli is huge! I have to find out when am I supposed to get it from the plant. Never in my life have ever since such huge broccoli,lol I do not even like cooking it. To me it small like burning plastic,lol This week I also need to clean one of the beds to do the garlic.
