Michigan Thread - all are welcome!

Tonight, the Northern Lights are far enough south for the northern tier of states from Washington to Michigan to see them!! If it is dark enough where you are.

Sigh, I didn't see them.

If you have a clear sky and it is dark enough, they are expected to be visible from 11pm to 5am.

Oh, here is a 30 min forecast for them

so, they aren't far enough south just now. If I'm still awake, I'll try later.

Greetings all. I've been idle for a bit, under the weather for a week or so. Nothing major just a seasonal allergy thing but the arthritis pain was awful.

It seems that one of my EE pullets has taken up crowing. That is fine with me as one of the BO "roosters" turned out to be a pullet. Gotta love those TSC experts. :rant One of the BO is quite small in stature. Just a little bigger than a bantam. Do Orps come as bantams? I can't remember. I think they do.

I seem to be forgetting a lot lately. Left the hose run all day twice this week. At least the ducks enjoyed it.

I hope everyone gets a chance to see the northern lights. They have been spectacular over Lake Huron. Just WOW!

Stull sick but going. Dealing with P3. She has been getting bound a few times this past week. It says is lack of calcium, but just one? The get calcium at their disposal plus egg shells.
Both speckle sussexes are laying small brown eggs. They feel big girls since they got a ring on their legs, lol
Itty-bitty keeps trying to crow butnot there yet. They all come out to free range and all the new girls just get on Pitbull 's face. They are, oh my you're so good looking, love your colors...lol But when he dances to them, they take off. They just tease the poor roo,lol
@troyer, need to pull his things out because they are curving up towards him. Just waiting to find someone to hold him tight. Hub had surgery on his right arm and has no strength.
Other than that, staying up at night and now ready to get in bed. Timing is wacky-wacky on me.

I've taken to setting my alarm on my phone when I do things like turn on the water. Very annoying.
That's a good idea. Now all I have to remember is where I laid the phone down.

I have been letting the flock free-range for the past several days. I'm comfortable doing that as long as the crows keep hanging around. There are tons of grasshoppers in the field next to the garage. It is entertaining to watch the chickens jumping after the grasshoppers. Acorns have been dropping like rain here. Not a mast year but still way more than usual. There are a lot of seedlings and saplings in the woods. I still need to drag out some downed oaks from the far end of the property. And there is always more firewood to get ready for winter. Brr.
