Michigan Thread - all are welcome!

I can still remember the grimace on my mom's face as she tried to "open" the ice cube tray. :lau Then she'd call my dad into the kitchen to do it.

If he refilled it, he'd fill it over the dividers, for bigger cubes. If mom refilled it, she'd keep the water level below that level, so that she could open it.

Feeder woes. Seems my feed is a bit too crumbly and clogs up the bottom of the feeder. Thinking I need a new one, something large but will still fit in the footprint of a 5 gal bucket. Any suggestions?

What kind do you have now?

I made a feeder, with many iterations to try and stop billing out.
I like it, but I do 'fill' twice a day because they can still bill feed out:

I have the 5 gallon bucket with the port-holes, but my issue is it seems like my feed gets stuck and condenses at the bottom so it doesn't "flow" properly.
Is it inside the coop so it doesn't get wet?
Are you using crumbles?

It's in the run, but the run has a roof on it and doesn't get wet when it rains, also, the bucket is closed, so the feed stays dry.

I am using crumbles.
Still might be humid enough, plus the weight of that much feed.
Mine jams up like that too at times, but it's pretty easy to clear.

Is everyone outside? It's been really quiet here, just saying hello this beautiful Saturday!
Any of you driving toward the eclipse Monday? We're going to try it, can't miss this opportunity, so close. We'll be packing food, drinks, everything I can think of, and plan to be patient with traffic. Should be interesting, at least...
Mary
