Thank you! I actually listed him locally on Craigslist and have two interested parties. I am hopeful to get him to a new home this week.

I bought a (seedless) watermelon yesterday. I put 3 slices in the freezer overnight and gave them to the chickens this afternoon. They loved it! They know what watermelon is, so there was no hesitation.

I wish I could find watermelon with seeds... the seeds are an extra treat.

My birds got a watermelon today also, although it was not quite as hot as it was yesterday. There was a freakish strong wind blowing, which always worries me about wildfires in the surrounding dense woods. We are just not used to that kind of temperature yet this year up here in the land of snow and ice.

Last week Meijers had watermelon with seeds on sale. Usually all the Meijers stores carry about the same things so you might look there.

I got my seedless watermelon at Meijer. We looked for seeded, but they didn't have any. Actually, they didn't have many watermelon at all. They had those big boxes -- the kind that make great chick brooders! -- and there were about 5-10 left in each box. I bet they sold a LOT of watermelon over the weekend!

I got my seedless watermelon at Meijer. We looked for seeded, but they didn't have any. Actually, they didn't have many watermelon at all. Yep. Ours was out of seeded several days ago and not many seedless. This morning, all the bins are full. The seeded are one bin next to the black diamond seedless. This is halfway across the produce section from the bins of regular colored seedless. Or, rather, the seeded are one the far back corner and the seeded are in the middle of the produce section.

Seeded aren't on sale this week like they were last week (only not as much on sale as the seedless).

I got the seeded anyway this time. Because my dil (from Congo) is coming to our house for the first time. Seeded taste better. Although the seedless I got last week was pretty good - much better tasting than they used to be.

They are out of walleye, though. Sadly. She likes fish; I was so excited to see the walleye there and on sale earlier this week. It was just too many days away to buy fresh fish.
