Michigan Thread - all are welcome!

It's fall here, has been for the last 2 weeks. We had several long dry spells and several wet spells so I guess it all evened out. I see some of the poplar leaves are drying up and falling off, but not other trees.

We've had rain the last three nights. About an inch, all told. It didn't rain hard enough to put ruts in the driveway, and it soaked in easily. Some bits of color here and there. I think this will be only a so-so year for the fall show.

The weather team on channel 8 forecasts when the peak color will be in various zones on the state map. They have also said what leads to great color, or less than optimum, but I don't recall what the recipe is. Other than drought will dull/dampen the color, and we've had that.

Allegan county confirmed a case of AI in a backyard flock. :(
I read that today, too.

I have a lot of poplar yellowing and one maple threatening orange, but no overachievers. You’re eastern UP, right?
