Michigan Thread - all are welcome!

Oft times birds with respiratory issues benefit from a treatment of VetRX. It is sold at TSC and most feed stores, it dispensed with the supplied eye dropper. Place a drop daily under each wing.
I will do that Opa. The old folks are going to love watching me hold that tiny finch down and put drops under its wings!

Last year I was trying to pry the little beak open and get one drop in there.....this actually sounds easier! Thank you!

Mish! I love them all! We're looking for one or 2 more, but we can't have a rooster, and it looks like you want your fellas taken care of before moving the rest.

Raz, I wonder if one of the members of the activist group would consider writing a form letter that could be made available. I'd use one, tweak it for that personal touch and mail it. My city does not allow chickens. BYC was before the city commission last year and it didn't pass. I'd imagine that it will be less likely to pass in the future if RTF is weakened. We're breaking all sorts of ordinances over here what with our illegal flock of 2 chickens and our compost box.

I survived!! It was a great day with the grand kids. We all loved the zoo.
Amy, that would have been funny. I would have been so shocked if someone came up to me asking if I was chickflick.

It would have been nice to meet you, tho.
Mrshaggie, if you're ever this way, you are welcome to stop by and say hi!
Adorable Max and Gia! Great that you gave that kitty a new chance at life.
Raz, sounds like you did a great job.

Glad you had a good day at the zoo. I looked and looked... ;)
We love John Ball Zoo, and go twice a month. My kids favorite part of the zoo? Baby goats and chickens. Why do we live in the city?

I'm working on something like that. I'll be happy to share it once I get it polished.

Raz...I would like to hear more. If you get a chance pm me and maybe explain a little more what is currently in place and what the changes could be and let me know what I can do (or send links, I don't mind reading just not much computer time to hunt everything down.) It sounds like you did great! Keep fighting the good fight! :D

Mish! I love your duckies! I think mine are too little to mix them together, but they are beautiful, especially your WH! :)

I'll keep that in mind chickflick! That would be fun! :)

Oh, music...I like pretty much everything, but mainly listen to contemporary christian, country, oldies, or rock. I love Evanescence (I really like to sing them for Karaoke when I go!) Christina Aguilera Tchaikovsky, Side Walk Profits, Christina Perri, Karmin (I love to sing them too, I like to think I can rap pretty well. ;) lol ) and Band Perry.

In other news...I found some chickens that I want, and I did not get anything done on the duck house...I DID however get a lot done around the house so I'll take it and hopefully get a lot done tomorrow, unless it rains...which we really need or I am going to have to go water my garden, but I need to get the duck house done too.

Mish - those chicks peeking out from under moms are adorable! Wish I was closer - actually it's good that I'm not!

Raz - good work defending chickens.

Taprock ( or anyone else) - How big were your chickens that went to freezer camp? How much is lost after being dressed out? I have a couple that will surely will be going if the attitude does not change. I just don't want to do it too early and really have nothing to show for it.

Not sure at this point, I pick the frozen little guys up tomorrow. They were all about 4 months old but big size difference between breeds.

Today was the first day I let my two month olds out for a long time. With the hawk threat recently I didn't want the little guys free ranging. They were just begging to get out. They were so bold - just pushed in with all the older ones. Everyone was out when the Cranes started up in the back field. They haven't been around this year so all the chickens freaked out. Roosters and hens were squawking about them. It took about 5 minutes of lots of noise until they decided it wasn't a threat and everyone settled down.

RAZ, a suggestion, if you don't mind.
Would you add the link to the new proposed law in your signature line? I am finding it hard to go back and find it when I have the time to actually read it. I appreciate all that you are going through to keep your rights and to fight for the rights of everyone else. Even if you don't hear from each person, know that so many are there in the background supporting you and cheering you on! Just keep letting us know what each of us can do to make a difference.
