I'm not 100% sure on this, but my BIL's FIL tried to do something like this a few years ago (only it was to flip properties and get rich quick
) and I *think* that whomever BUYS the property is responsible for paying the back-taxes within a certain amount of time.
You are correct, all back taxes must be paid within a time frame. Right now it's under 800$, and even if this doesn't happen till next year, the taxes aren't that high because it's undeveloped land. I talked to my DH about actually talking to the BF to see if he would sell it to us if he held the deed. If the FIL has any tips on buying the property, I'm all ears!
Raz, Excellent job yesterday...thank you!! In a way what you're experiencing at home, could work in your favor. and in the long run benefit you and others in your situation. If it doesn't affect your court case, I would try and use the media to your advantage. Instead of getting you into trouble.. your neighbor may actually be helping you! Can you say BACKFIRE! LOL!
HA! I was not going to put up any curtains in the living room cause what I have will clash with the new colors........ Last night DH said I should get new ones to match... he said it, so that's what I'm a gonna do! And it looks like we'll be needing a new washer n dryer... the dryer is ok, but we're so disenchanted with the Bosch brand that he wants them both gone!
Good morning btw!
Music, I like lots.. blues, pipe band (bagpipe), rock, hard rock, Dupstep, electroica etc... my fav band is KoRn as many of you already know.
Be on the look out for tomato caterpillars - found the first one on my maters yesterday.
SO thankful for the rain. It's been nice not having to mow the lawn all summer, but everything looks horrible. My pond, that I stocked fish in last summer... only has a couple feet left in it... it's moved about 20 ft from the shore edge. I hope a few of the fish survived.
I've been having to force the turkeys out of the chicken yard to get to the grass etc.. they are not comfortable leaving it. I want them to have free run of the larger yard and get them away from the chicken yard. Not easy to herd easily confused critters! i think I need an access door to the area I want them to use and that will eliminate the problem.
The Sumatra boys are starting to get their tail feathers.. I think I have 4 roos and one hen. They pretty much have free reign of the property..... like I have a choice with these guys... they're like a bunch of little hoodlums running around! Once they fill out, I'm picking the roo I like and will put him in a tractor with the hen. So, at some point, maybe next year chicken stock, i will have 3 handsome males to re-home and maybe some chicks too! Dh actually likes them. The Uggos are getting filled out. I worry sometimes about the black silkie, omg, he is the sweetest bird. I pick him up and can carry him around.. he just makes a soft clucking sound..... I don't think he can see a thing though.
Does anyone else trim facial feathers around their silkies eyes?
BackyardFarmMom - (NOT brilliant) lets not go there either we've had enough controversy for now.
BobBry, your previous post you were referring to (on the other board?), no need to apologize.
Mrsshaggie... I have a hard plastic form pond that I will be selling at my garage sale later next month... if you are interested let me know. If you're landlord doesn't want anything put in ground, you may be able to get away with building a landscaping or cinder block frame to support the pond, and provide a ramp for the ducks to walk up to it, and it would make it easier to drain the pond if you installed a drain in the side or bottom of it. Just a thought. Not sure where Dryden is though. Looks like it's about 1
.5 hrs away. Up to you!
