Michigan Thread - all are welcome!

Hello all Michiganders!:) Does anyone have any runner or Cayuga hens available? I would prefer them to be people friendly not necessarily to handle put eat out of your hand calm mannered. I really would like a blue runner and a Cayuga. I was devastated because I had a friend who was going to order me one of both day old chicks from a hatchery but that hatchery was out of both. I wanted ducklings but now I am open to laying hens if no ducklings are available. Last resort I will order from holderreads or metzers but I only want two so with holderreads I will have waaay more then I need and with metzers I don't want to waste $45 on shipping. I am also willing to go in on an order with someone.

Hey 1mutt and chickflick. Guess what chick... My touch pad changes your screen name to chickenpox! Haha!

Anyway! Either of you come by my house last night and steal my purple tomatoes? Not kidding. Some jerk-a-lot stole my tomatoes last night. I went littles morning to pick the ripe ones and all my purples and beef steaks are gone. The green ones are there, but the ripe ones! Gah! I swear, this is just so pathetic. Why why why! Oh I need those trees down for next year. I can't have people stealing my produce. Or a serious electric fence. They did not steal my peppers this time. But I have no cukes left either. Well, there are some, but not at eating length. I could just throw a serious tantrum.

Nova that's awful! Do you have a paintball gun? I would put a sign next to your garden that says "Trespassers will be shot" then stake it out one night and shoot with a paintball if someone comes in...immediately after, go out and say it was a warning and next time it will be a real gun...I bet you won't have any more problems. lol

Yay for eggs swampducks!

Sam,

I have the dumb part cvered. ( ur wish) Don't think the body could handle the young part now.

Is that udder stuff the same as the Original Bag Balm mfg.Lyndonville Vt. ?

I sometime think I'm totally inept, and other times I'm sure of it. I had a number (unknown #) of posts marked with the multi post icon. Started to enter info and whole thing diappeared. I hate that.

The poster from Paw Paw, We lived there and I taught in the High School from 1957 to 1965. I often think of the people we knew and life then. So many students. How about I PM you some questions about the status of some of them? I know Barry B. was a State police Detective, probably retired now. Mickey Middaugh, held an elected state House seat for a long time.

Someone in Carson City has Red Jungle Fowl. They sound pretty cool. Probably not spotted or frizzled, though. . . .

yeah, I meant frizzle not fizzle, just can't type, and no thanks. :( I wanted what I wanted...I'm not very open minded about different types of fowl right now until I have more room to play with. :( I'm just getting more and more bummed on the computer...time for a short technology fast me-thinks.

Bag Balm and Udder Balm perform the same function. Protecting and healing of a cow's udder. The difference is that Bag balm is a salve and Udder Balm is an ointment. Udder balm is easier to apply and does have more beneficial ingredients. Cows will stand while a salve is massaged onto their udder. A rooster will not cooperate when applying anything of his comb and wattles which is why I opt for the ointment rather than a salve, however the salve will provide longer lasting protection.
