Michigan Thread - all are welcome!

Juise- Glad that the damage was not worst, and did not have a total house fire like it happened to us 12 years ago. I was 11 years old. My mom was 7 months along for my youngest sister, number 9, when that happened. We lost just about everything, thankfully we were at our Up North house when the fire started. It was caused by a old smoke alarm under the living room.

I promised pictures of my layer coop, so I will post them now.

My older brother and I built it all by ourselves in '07. Total cost of materials and building it was around 5 dollars. :D Everything came from my dad's ''Junkyard'' in the backyard.

RaZ- See those 3 white sticks in front and by the coop? I have finally planted those willow trees that I got from you at CS. The hop plant died. :( Wanted it to grow over the coop to keep it cool.

Got 5 eggs from 9 Isa Browns today! Some of them will be starting to lay soon!

Fred is a Basque that my son bought from 1muttsfan for a 4-H project. Fred is really nice but is on probation now. He has grabbed me twice, not really mean - just grabbed me with his beak. I'm hoping it's just because he's hopped up on hormones right now and will settle down.

Those Chanteclers look so sweet.

You sure touched a nerve with me! I've worked hard and I've worked smart, but I was always passed over by those who worked "pretty". Or worked politically.

Brands do matter in the corporate world, what others think can help or hurt your career. Appearances matter far more than what people want to admit. That's a dirty little secret that no one will ever admit to. Hitting mid-life should not be an issue, but reality suggests that it is a factor. At least from my point of view.

I don't think that you are being "obsessive", I just think that if you are worried about what the "crowd" thinks, then you are missing the fact that you are "first class" and it doesn't matter what the guests think.

If you really want to be "first class" then be true to yourself. You can't make people like you or appreciate you, but you can like and appreciate your own self through your own eyes and not the eyes of others. Do that and you can't go wrong. Who cares what the crowd thinks. Smile and wink at them and they will go crazy trying to figure out what you know that they don't.
Bravo

Bretheren, you may be oversupplementing your birds. Feeds are made to be complete and balanced rations, and others foods added should not compose more than 15% of the calories they consume. While protein is important, other nutrients in proper balance are just as important, especially in growing birds. Calcium and phosphorus together, in the proper balance, are crucial to normal skeleton development. Birds fed high-fat foods (such as sunflower seeds) will grow too fast and become too fat, both bad for future egg-laying. It is almost impossible to properly balance a ration when you add large amounts of random feeds. You might try cutting out the treats almost completely, and feeding just a grower ration for a while.
