Michigan Thread - all are welcome!

I was shocked this evening when looking in on Millie, the hen we thought had not been successful in hatching the eggs given to her. I'm standing there speaking to the chicken, offering sympathy because her efforts, erratic though they were, would be to no avail. So, when my eyes adjust to the dim light.... A chick is peering at me from under Millies breast. With a feather i could have beeen knocked over, but Hooray, anyway..There are more but I didn't count them.  Maybe I can add a pict of her & one.

o m g! Look at that! It is so cute! Looks like a fat little baby!

O.K. I need opinions...........my son wants to go to school all day, go to a 2.5 hour tennis practice after school, eat at a friend's home and then go to a football game all on Friday and then get up and play a tennis tournament for his school early on Saturday a.m. and the tennis lasts all day on Saturday.
Am I wrong in saying that he cannot go to the football game?

I guess a lot would depend upon depend upon his age, how responsible he has been in the past. There is an old adage "how can a child learn to be trustworthy unless we first trust them

Fuzzy,I warehousing... Them there things would work great in the laundry room on the walls. Super easy to wash off... I also asked Carl about cutting my roosts out for me... He thinking might be able to.
was thinking?
Well, there are a ton of them! He is just going to burn what we don't use. I figure even if i put the shiny side in they still won't absorb the moisture and warp, or let the moisture into the structure beams. I have paint and also i picked up some oak stain curbside the other day, i just gotta remember where i put a paintbrush to test the stuff............The paint is kinda like liquid chrome......no other way to describe it! I don't know yet what that would look good with, but hey it's neat and free! Need to finish tearing out the camper cupboards and get some tiny nails to start working on refurbing the inside of my coop

Found an old mirror on the way home today..... very heavy and worn (beat up) just right! very happy, and very tired... night all!

I also found out it was a group of wild turkeys that have been in the garden eating and crushing my tomato plants!! Have photos of them too!

Opa my son is 16 years old. He is an A student and a varsity tennis player. Which means he plays tournaments on most Saturdays and usually one or two tournaments a week after school and they practice every day except Sunday for 2.5 hours during the months of Aug- Oct. Now he wants to add in being part of the cheering section in the stands at the football games on Friday night and I am thinking that if he has a tournament the next day he should skip the football game. I am o.k. with him going to the Friday night football game if he does not have a tournament the next day.
I think kids are crazy overbooked nowdays but I was wondering if I was being too strict.

p.s. AWESOME mirror Sillychicken! AWESOME!

Let him go. Football games aren't going that late. He'll be able to see then on his own if his performance suffers. Back in HS, I had so much energy, got more crammed in a day that I do now. If he doesn't know his limits, he never will until you let him find them. Besides, this is play, not work. All boys still need to play.
