Michigan Thread - all are welcome!

I just read an article on line about "Better Rainwater-Harvesting System" It is in Mother Earth News, August 18, 2012. Sounds good to me, especially since rain water off the roof soaks our deck. I've been thinking of having gutters installed anyway. Check it out. This system can not be against the law.??

Fuzzy sorry about your lap chickens. I had one of those until a hawk grabbed her. It still makes me teary so I totally understand.

Lots of other interesting things today from tomatoes to rain barrels. The rain barrel I can't believe! I wish I had a few here.

This is from my son who wanted everyone to see him and Sweetie.

He was not as nervous this year and did much better. I talked to the judge afterward and she gave some pointers for him to work on for next year. This year he was still in the youngest class but next year he moves up a level. The hawk hocks still make me grin!

I've constructed some rain barrels that look like benches or flower containers.
So if you need a stealth rain barrel, let me know. I have 5 or 6 55 gallon drums left.

Taprock, your children are lovely and Sweetie is adorable! Congratulations to your son!
What great memories!

Rain barrels - 7,000 residents of the Island of Hawaii have no other source of water. They use the rain water from their roof for drinking, bathing, cooking, laundry.
One day during a drought, a little boy at our church prayed out loud for rain. After 30 straight days of rain one of the old timers at church asked if he would pray for it to stop!

p.s. it's legal to have rain barrels in Hawaii County anyway which is the entire Big Island. Hawaii depends totally on rain water because it is on lava (not easy to drill) and surrounded by salty water. They are working on desalinating the ocean water but it isn't as good as the rain water.

(looks like CS north is out due to that being early doe season).
When was this decided? I didn't see any posts about it being canceled and I have read every post on this thread. Did I miss it somehow? Lovells is a great place to camp and they have good hunting up there on the state land. I know. I hunted it for years and years.

I believe that he meant for him, personally. Not everyone else.

I was wondering if you all would chime in here.

I am feeling overwhelmed and would just like a small flock of various hens to collect eggs from, no show winners needed.

But the prices on some of these hatcheries after shipping seems like I would need them to lay for 5 good years to break even :)

Just wanting some good advice on how to inexpensively grow my flock, I would like egg colors to be a pretty rainbow for lack of a better term.

I will pray for the baby and the mother.
I do not think that the doctors have a right to terminate the pregnancy, [or anyone for that matter] no matter what the situation is. Every human life is precious, no matter how small.
Micah, even though had many issues, is still 100 percent human, and he is very loved by many people.

FB - I believe that no one has the right to make this kind of decision for someone else. I am praying that if there is a problem, its one that can be corrected in the womb.
