So one of my very good friends/ classmates is trying to get more people to view her youtube videos. She is a great singer and is also a great songwriter. She is inspired greatly by taylor swift and hopes to be on American idol or talent tv show. Here is one of her songs that she wrote herself call Fly Away. Figured it fit in since this is a poultry website.

Did some other bird pluck her? That is what Farmerboys roosters looked like after the guineas got to them........

I personally don't like feather legged birds and the feathers tend to be a problem in snowy weather.

Not to mention that they get poo stuck all over them... No matter how clean the coop/ run is, I swear mine dance in the poo!!!!

I guess last night's Blue Moon had an influence. The egg that Gravy laid this morning is nearly the same colour as a robin's egg.

August was a good month for eggs, 247 eggs.

Awesome!!!...

I think I will have to wait until October before expecting my first egg... Marsala is not giving one up anytime soon. So I will have to wait for Noodle... But I think her egg will be worth the wait!!!

I always leave the feeders out till Oct 1st. Some folks believe that if you don't take them in then the hummingbirds won't leave. I believe the hummers know better than to stick around.

Should I expect mine to molt this year? They are all this spring/ summer babies.

Now that was just the weirdest thing.
My Uggo, Pepper was in the next box, just standing there.
So I gave her a bit of a groping. While massaging her rump, an egg rolled out of her into the nest.

Mine always stand up before the egg comes out. I bet she was shooting you some pretty weird looks!

Not really, but i'm keeping a brave face.
I am going to try to incubate my eggs, but i only will have the tractor supply model. I couldn't see risking anyone else's hatchlings with mine, and i am hoping that i will be able to tell my cocoa's babies from princess's , though i am sure they will all be nice because my roo was nice too. I am focusing on that, and trying not to think about it all. By this spring i will know if my project is toast or not, though i have at least one daughter of hers who is just like her! But too soon for me to feel the same way about her as i did her momma.
I really wanted a whole flock of lap cuddlers, blue and rusty colored like she was. Who could resist that?
