Again today, I heard a rooster crowing a few blocks away. It was hard to hear him considering the firetruck sirens, the barking dogs, the screaming kids, general traffic, the loud woman across the street, the lawn mowers, and the hot rod cars going 60 mph up the street.

Yet, I go before the judge on Tuesday.

I read this .....

My young cousin who has CP and is in a wheelchair came to visit the chickens yesterday. My son is always telling him about his roosters. So after a stay in the hospital this was one of his asked for 'special treats'. He threw bread to them and petted them and wanted to know ALL their names.

Then I read this and want to know what is wrong with our country?? What harm can a few chickens do?? taprock's cousin obviously got a great deal of enjoyment from them.

This is the roo I am trying to rehome. Pretty head. Nice comb.

The color on his head is a dark gold color. On his wings its more of a rust.

This is the color coming out in tail.

Sweet boy which I got at CS. Should be a blue marans. I dont know genetics with the blue and was surprized to see the red show up.
Would make a great cross with EE's to make some pretty olive eggers.

He is a beautiful blue copper Marans and I would take him but he has a little too much copper on him. I just re-homed a young one like him.

Good Luck, Raz!! Hope all goes well. If not, I'll come and visit you in jail. I'm sure we can get some folk to take turns so you don't get lonely! JK. It's just so stupid it's hard to put into words what I feel about the ordinances that keep people from having a few hens, but the neighbor next door can have barking dogs and loud music, etc.

Have a good day, all. My son from Chicago might come for a visit. Has to see if his car in storage still runs. Some family is coming, I just don't know how many just yet. Makes it hard to know what to do for food.

Lockdown!

Now to get the humidity up. I filled both resevoirs and put 2 baby food jars with sponges in there and taped the lid down. I've been able to get RH up to about 45% without the jars/sponges, so I'm hoping those do the trick to get it up another 20%.

A question about integrating my younger chicks with my pullets......the young ones are spread out in age......6wks, 8wks, and 9-10wks. DH wants to put the oldest in with the big girls soon, but I think it would be better to wait and put all 3 in together so they have some 'friends'. What do you all think?

I would put them in altogether. Safety in numbers. I am working on intergrating my 3 months olds now.

As a chick he was sky blue. Cutie pie. I suspected he was a roo but the fella selling him swore it was a little pullet . So I toke a chance. With my luck I should have know better!
