Michigan Thread - all are welcome!

Guess DH is allergic to duck eggs... last weekend he was sick after the scrambled eggs. Today I made pancakes and used a duck egg and he was sick again... He doesn't want to see another duck egg... EVER! Also, he's not in any hurry for me to cook him breakfast anytime soon

any others I may have missed too,,,,, lovely day today, Detroit had a bad day DS is very sad but yesterday was worse as MSU took a dive.... not the week ind to remember for him
hawks and vultures were flying low today, the roosters kept the hens in hiding most of the day,
guess I need to go collect eggs now and make sure they all have a snack before bed

That's terrible..........i couldn't help but snicker a little though. :) Poor guy.

Well, my first chicks turned 21 weeks today. And one of them celebrated by laying her first egg! Of course, I was at work today for a 10 hour shift. I think DH is more excited than me!

The lighter egg above is a small silkie egg. I believe the egg below is from one of my Buff Orpingtons. The other choice would be Black Austrolorp, but wouldn't an Austrolorp's be a little darker???

Thanks Grandma. Will be so glad when a few more start laying and I don't have to wait for a few days in order to have fresh eggs for breakfast. Hope the others start soon too!!

Congratulations on the first egg! The australorp hatching eggs I had were slightly darker and had odd shaped darker spots all over - I don't know if that's typical though. Neither my australorp or buff orps are laying yet...21 and 3/4 weeks now...I told ya my husband is gonna designate one for dinner pretty soon! My barred rocks set the bar high.

Duck eggs have a lot of sulfur in them (so I was told) They make my stomach upset too. It has been years since I had one though.
