Michigan Thread - all are welcome!

Oh my word! I SEE what you mean about slick as a seal! Goodness, he's got a beautiful hair coat! A testament to his good heatlh, I'm sure.

We always give table scraps to all 3 of our dogs with no ill effects. I am adamant, though, that this is done in their bowls in the kitchen so they don't beg while we eat.
Thanks!

Noah... I have no hope for

He is a pure bichon and I got him from a customer that no longer wanted him. Never will I get a pure bred again! (unless it needed a home) Dumb as rocks... super sweet though.

But NO SHEDDING is a huge plus for your Bichon, yes? I'm a huge fan of mutts, too. We adopted two from the same litter (now THAT is something I'd never, EVER do again) - yes, believe it or not, they are full siblings - I just love our Rudy & Halle!

Yes, no shedding! I wanted a bichon because I was starting to groom and they need constant grooming. Noahs owner would bring him in and he would be so happy to see me! So when she was moving she asked if I would take him!!!!!

They are so cute! They love eachother!!!! They have the same shape head... but everything else is different. That is so neat! Is there any way that the mother could have mated with 2 different males? Or did mom look like one and dad look like the other?

It's possible that siblings can be from two different fathers, but, at least according to my vet, the chance is so very slim that it can happen. He doens't believe they have different fathers but we don't know for certain. They are shaped exactly the same, and almost exactly the same size, so I believe they've just got different hair coats. Here are better pics of each. This is a super recent pic of Halle's face:

And Rudy:

Here's about a month after we brought them home:

And one of my fave pics of Rudy the very day we brought him home:

As you can see, I love them dearly & have many, many pics!

All weekend long, this thread was pretty quiet. Now today, it is very active.

Home from another day of docent duty. I had good groups of kids today. There were quite a few exotics blooming in the conservatory that most people will never see. There is a "century plant" (agave) in the arid house that is getting ready to bloom. I've been told that it is approximately 85 years old.

In spite of the wind and cold, my hens are outside running around the run just as any other day. And no one told them that they are supposed to slow down egg production this time of year.

I have the wood stove cleaned and a new fire laid in, so I'm going to have lunch and then kick the dogs off the couch so I can take a nap.

Stay warm, my friends.

Thankfully, no full out sn@*, but we have been getting some sl**t... Hey, does anyone in Michigan have Light Sussex or Coronation Sussex? I have some Coro chicks and think I have an over abundance of cockerels. I'd love to get some Coro pullets or Light pullets to put with them...

Opa, I've been joining you in that cup of coffee for several hours now. lol...

I have 5 Light Sussex pullets and 1 Coronation Sussex roo and 1 pullet. They are 4 months old, so they will not be laying for a couple more months yet.

Just a reminder...

Tomorrow is the Ag Com meeting in Lansing.
Please attend if possible.

If you can't attend, please write. I can take your letter / e-mail to the meeting.
